Tender Teacher Loves Pooches!
Pet care experience
I am a fourth-grade teacher who recently graduated with a doctorate in education. Since I am on summer vacation and just finished school, I am looking for a meaningful way to fill my free time. I absolutely love dogs and it's almost impossible for me to drive past a stray without wanting to cry. If you’re looking for me at a party, I’m petting the owner’s dog! My parents have two dogs at home - Tigger and Toto. Since I live in an apartment, I prefer to not do in-house dog sitting. But, I have no problem coming to walk or spend time with your four-legged friends! I will treat them like my own and give them nothing but love and affection. I've had three dogs over the last 20+ years, so I've had plenty of experience taking care of man's best friend. Since I am on summer vacation, my schedule is very flexible. I think Tigger and Toto would say I'm the best at giving tummy rubs also, but they might be pretty biased! :)

Alex has been a dear friend of mine for the past 10 years. She has two dogs of her own and has been a wonderful dog/ house sitter when I’m out of town. She’s very attentive and caring. I know that I can always trust her when I go out of town or just need her to walk my dog on days when I work late

I would prefer to meet beforehand with the pet parent and the pet to help them get more acclimated to me. However, if that isn’t an option, I’m okay with meeting them by myself as well. I always monitor the pets that I’m taking care of. I play with them, give them hugs (& kisses), and belly rubs. I promise I won’t spoil them and give them too many treats!

The thing that I would like most about dog sitting is getting to play with the dog. I prefer smaller dogs because they're easier to walk, BUT I am not opposed to gentle medium-large dogs.
A typical day
Your furry friend and I could enjoy a nice walk through the park or your neighborhood. We would play with toys, I would give them their favorite treats.
