Dogs adore me and the feeling is mutual!

Pet care experience

I was lucky enough to live with a Parsons Terrier pup in my previous household and I find myself really missing his cheeky energy. I'd take him for walks and play ball with him (although he wouldn't ever really fetch it, he'd leave it somewhere miles away from me). Back home, after a long walk and we'd cleaned all the mud off, his favourite thing would be to fall asleep on me while I 'tried' to work. We were strict with him, no human food etc, and he was really well behaved for the most part, aside from a tendency to gnaw at the furniture when we weren't looking and going absolutely hysterical whenever he saw any reflections moving on the walls. In contrast, my mum has a Weimaraner called Larson who wasn't properly trained and seems to think he's the alpha at home. He's totally adorable and super affectionate but looking after him requires a lot more patience because he's very needy, stubborn and out of control. He will often whine and yelp at you incessantly until he gets a rice cake. So I've had experience taking care of small and large breeds (both behaved and not so well behaved 🤣), walking and a little grooming, bathing them occasionally too. I can tell when they want to play and when they need space. I've house-sitted a few times and that's something I really enjoy - animals seem way more relaxed in their own homes. A little about me, I'm trustworthy and punctual with a calming and caring energy. I've always felt to be on the same crazy wavelength as dogs and I've read lots of books about how to understand and care for them, one of my favourites is 'The Puppy Primer'. I'm only accepting one dog at a time initially which means your pooch will get my undivided attention.

Alex lived with us for some time and we have 2 Jack Russell Terriers. At the time Alex lived with us we had just one of them, Taco...and Alex was living with us from when we brought Taco home at 10 weeks right up until he was 10months old. Alex was very involved in helping with the training as well as taking Taco for walks and dog sitting when we were out/away. He has an intrinsic love and connection with animals and Taco loved being around him. He was confident and assertive in his care for Taco and I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for help walking or looking after their dog/s.
