I've known Alex for over 6 years and know him to be a great, caring, and responsible dog handler. Before I met him, Alex grew up in a farm in rural Iowa and had experience with working farm dogs, which he explained to me is where he got his start with dog handling. By the time I met Alex in Chicago, he was a professional dog walker and sitter, entrusted with many client's urban dogs. I believe he was able to help solve some of his clients whose dogs had behaviorial issues with regular exercise and training. I have trusted Alex with my own dog Huck's care multiple times. He even taught Huck (a border collie mix) a cool agility trick "backpack", where my dog jumps on my back for a piggy back ride! Also noteworthy: I witnessed Alex successfully and safely break up a potentially dangerous dog fight. To be perfectly honest I can't recall exactly how he did it, but it was impressive. He has a natural ability with dogs and communicates with them using body language. Lastly, he is the owner of a rambunctious 3 year old male Akita named Bourbon, and I believe their relationship is testiment to his excellent dog handling abilities. Bourbon's previous owner was unable to control him because of his size, strength, and dominant nature, but Alex adopted and trained him and helped his good nature shine through all his excess energy! It's not easy keeping a high-energy dog like Bourbon in the city, but Alex does an excellent job and I believe he could help others do the same in a professional manner.
