Reliable and professional pet care

Pet care experience

I've provided reliable pet care for dogs and cats for 15+ years. This winter I completed the basic clicker training course at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland which provided valuable knowledge on pet care. My partner and I had our beloved senior dog pass away last year which was a very difficult adjustment. While we wait to find our family's next pup, I'm looking to provide my time and the use of our home to help care for your furry loved ones!

Alex was a great dogsitter! Our dog gets over-excited when new people arrive, and Alex responded in the right way to put him at ease. He was very communicative while we were away, sending lots of photos, which is always welcome, especially with a new dogsitter! Plus, our house was spotless when we returned and he was flexible about changes in our plans. We would definitely ask Alex to come back again and watch Lucca.

Alex was so friendly and reliable, so sweet with our dog, we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and we look forward to using his services again.

Alex treated our pup with so much care and love while we were out of the country for two weeks! We loved getting regular updates and photos about the walks, swims and adventures they went on together. If you're looking for someone who will genuinely enjoy spending time with your dog and treat them like their own, and communicate well, you should definitely hire Alex!

Information Alex D. would like to know about your pet

Any information on triggers for your dog is important. Whether that is seeing something/someone while on a walk, hearing noises while in the home, etc. This will help me provide the best experience for your loved one. Any medical conditions or food allergies should be provided as well. What type of harness (if used) is helpful so I can prepare ahead of time.

A typical day

I grew to love life with a dog who need a LONG walk daily. Have a few favorite options locally for dog friendly trails including Shaw Park and Cherry Hill Farm. As a precaution I always check the pup for ticks after a walk through the woods, such is life in Maine! In the house we have plenty of space to play fetch, tug of war, or provide a food puzzle for some mental stimulation.
