Pet care experience
I have had dogs in my life since childhood and cannot imagine life without them. Growing up, I was the designated dog walker and trainer for my family’s rescue dog Nori, a sweet, 75-pound Great Pyrenees/Black Lab mix. Thanks to Nori, I have experience taking care of dogs throughout their adult lifespan—from training and playing with them during their younger years to administering medication and making them comfortable during their older years. Since leaving home, friends and family have trusted me to care for their dogs for stretches ranging from an afternoon to a week. This includes dog sitting my mother-in-law’s dog Fenway, an adorable doodle with separation anxiety. Whether your dog is raring to go for a long walk or needs someone to come by, feed them and keep them company at home, I will do my best to make sure they are comfortable, safe and content while you are away.

I am available for drop-in visits at your home, walks around the neighborhood and—if your dog likes to socialize—trips to the dog park. I am caring, alert and attentive to both your dog’s needs and your needs as an owner. You know you dog best, so when I am caring for them, I follow the instructions and routines you lay out and any preferences you express. I am also happy to incorporate any trainings you are working on with your pup during our time together. Meticulous by nature, you can also expect that I will leave your home just as clean and organized as I found it.

I would love to learn more about your dog’s temperament, preferences, and needs so they are comfortable while I am taking care of them. Please let me know about any unique personality traits, your dog’s behavior toward other dogs and people, how they prefer to walk (e.g., in parks or on the pier, on long walks or short jaunts around the neighborhood, etc.), their meal and medication schedules and any other preferences.
A typical day
For dog walks: Depending on your dog’s level of fitness and energy, I will be sure to take them on a stimulating walk—ideally to a nearby park or green space in your neighborhood. I bring dogs to Francisco Park almost daily and would be happy to bring your pup along for some social time. For drop-in visits: I will do whatever I can to ensure that you are comfortable leaving your pet in my care and will follow any instructions and routines you lay out while I am at your home. Let me know what your dog needs—whether it’s playtime, cuddles, meals or medication—and I will make sure they are well taken care of.

Availability
As a global health consultant, I work from home on a highly flexible schedule. Apart from occasional early morning calls with our offices in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, I have flexibility throughout the week to keep your dog company on mid-day drop-in visits and walks. I look forward to every opportunity to get outside and spend time with dogs in the neighborhood!
