No Hassle Dog Park Trips!!
Pet care experience
I am a lifelong dog owner. Every day, rain, sun, or snow, they go to the dog park for at least 90 minutes. If you frequent our local dog parks, we've probably met. Considering I'm a 6'8" long haired and bearded man who basically lives in tye dye shirts, I'm easy to remember. My two dogs, Moxee and Myrtle, are well socialized and trained. Myrtle loves to run and play, Moxee likes to sniff everything and chase a ball some. They are a great pair to accompany for dog park trips. I have trained my own dogs for many years. Moxee's and Myrtle's off leash skills alone impress just about everyone, and I spend a good amount of my time at the dog park helping people learn how to work with their dogs. I am firmly opposed to physical punishment or using fear-based approaches, preferring to take a more proactive approach. Dogs want to please their people, and with patience they will follow your lead. You just have to meet them at their level and understand their development in training takes time. The dog park, although I am careful for such risks as not allowing them near the gate when other dogs are entering, is where they have the freedom to just be dogs.
Reviews
Alec was great! Very professional. He met with me ahead of time and was not phased by my dog's possible medical issues that came up. Honey seemed like she had a great time. I would definitely book with Alec again.
He did a great job! Pets were cared for, timing for drop in visits were great, and communication was very punctual.
Alec is a fantastic person for your pets! We always see him at the dog park and he shows love to all the dogs around. Our pup gets so excited when Alec shows up! 10/10 would recommend to others
Alec is a responsible and loving pet caregiver. Watched my two cats for a week and sent several updates, including photos. Food was given out as id marked, and they refilled the water fountain when it ran low. Very impressed!

My dogs, and other dogs, have the run of our home. There are multiple dog beds, the furniture is free game, and they have a small backyard to run in some. Dog sitting is not something I take on unless the animal is already established with my group. I will be home twenty four hours a day if there is another animal staying with us. At the dog park, I bring a Chuck It with multiple balls, a flirt stick (amazing toy), water, and a whistle. I keep any dogs with me away from the gate when other dogs are entering or exiting (including my own); as it is a proven factor leading to the majority of dog park fights. Moxee and Myrtle are trained to sit next to us when a new dog arrives until they are released. As I've been frequenting our local dog parks nearly daily for years, I know the majority of the regulars who frequent them as well. Myself and a few others play a pivotal role in keeping the Independence Dog Park clean.

Information Alec R. would like to know about your pet
First meets are at either Independence or Monmouth Dog park. Before we meet, I need to be aware of any special needs, behavioral concerns, or other factors I should be aware of when your animal is in my care. They will need a harness if we are going to be around more then just my two dogs, and need to have a visibly displayed license at all times. I do not take unaltered females to Independence Dog Park, as we can never be certain when a female goes into heat. Unaltered males are on a case by case basis. Both of my dog are spayed/neutered, so I am able to take unaltered females and males who should be kept isolated from other unaltered males to Monmouth Dog Park.
A typical day
Depending on the socialization level of your dog, we will go to Monmouth or Independence Dog Parks. Monmouth has very few dogs, and with two separate sides they can be with just my two if you prefer. If and when we are both comfortable, we can also go to Independence Dog Park (flooding risk permitting) or even Minto Brown if they are off leash trained. If you would like some pictures, by all means ask! If you share them on social media and it leads to more business for me I will gladly give you a discount on a dog park trip or two. We will be at the dog park for at least forty five minutes, and depending on my time frame that day of the week we can discuss longer trips. This is my break from studying, so I play with my dogs a lot and burn off all of our energy. If they have some kind of other toy they prefer to play with, please let me know. A tired dog is a happy dog, and that is always my goal when we go to the dog park!

Availability
I am a full time remote college student, and outside of moments like exams I have a fairly open availability. I will be doing 1-3 dog forty five minute dog park trips a day, and can take one or two dogs. There is an increased cost for two dogs. I already spend at least an hour and half a day at the dog park for my two dogs, this will be just be a transition to more broken up trips and less long trips.
