Pet care experience
While I was growing up, my grandparents had large dogs while my parents had both small and medium dogs, so I learned to love all kinds of dogs in my life! Even my extended family has many dogs, so I was destined to have a deep love for man's best friend. I often would take care of my neighbors' dogs since middle school and make sure they were loved by me as much as their owners. When we had cable as a kid, I would often watch Dogs 101 on Animal Planet and learn all the different dog breeds I could, and each time I take my family's dog to the dog park when I'm back home, I always greet any four-legged friend who wants to get some butt scritches.

Alec is an AMAZING dog/house sitter and I've already booked him again for future services! He's a great and reliable communicator and really enjoys what he does, which showed on my puppy lovies' faces in the pictures he sent!
Alec was excellent with my 50 lb dog! He was kind enough to send updates and photos twice a day, and my dog loved his company. I'd recommend him to take care of anyones dog!

I can't bring any pets into my house unfortunately, but I can come to your home and keep your dog company, make sure they have food and water, and make sure they get outside as often as needed. I never feed dogs anything they aren't supposed to eat. Only what the owner explicitly directs or permits if there are certain treats they enjoy. If you don't allow your dog on certain furniture, I can be watchful if they try to leap up somewhere they shouldn't be. If you would like your dog to be crated when nobody is home, I can make sure they are safe and secure before I leave.

If your dog is a bit shy with new people, that is always good to know. Also, if your dog prefers to not be around other dogs, then I can make sure to be mindful of other dogs when taking them for a walk. It is also good to know if your dog likes going to the dog park or not. I've had dogs who love the park and dogs who are more standoff-ish. If you use a special harness when walking your dog, let me know so I can use what they're used to. If you don't allow your dog on the furniture or on certain furniture, please let me know since I love to have a dog in my lap or on the couch next to me and want to respect your wishes.
A typical day
I'm just off the Oak Leaf Trail, the perfect trail for nice long walks! If your yard is fenced in, I'm happy to play fetch outside as long as your dog has the energy to keep up! If you live near a dog park, I am more than happy to bring them to play with friends if you feel comfortable with that. If they are already tired, then I am happy to just pet them or give them space to rest, whatever they need to feel loved.

Availability
Currently, I am between jobs, so I see this as a great time to embrace the dog sitter lifestyle. I can take daily check-ins or walks as well as overnight stays if you're out of town and need homesitting any day of the week. My only obligation is Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for church, but I can always take care of your dog before/after service.
