Boarding small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters. Experienced caregiver of pets who have unique and different needs than dogs or cats. For the safety of my client's pets and my own I cannot board any animal that shows symptoms or is being treated for a contagious condition such as pasteurella , e.cuniculi, mites, lice, etc. I am a Veterinary Tech Assistant with a certificate from Middlesex Community College. I spent 8 years as a small animal volunteer caregiver and foster home with the MSPCA Nevins Farm in Methuen. I was also a member of their Small Animal Task Force. This is a group of hand picked volunteers that handle the more difficult cases at the shelter like sick, injured, abused, abandoned or neglected animals. I am a member of and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I am familiar with special needs and senior pets. I have worked with, adopted, fostered and boarded a variety of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters, degus, chinchillas, hedgehogs, birds (doves, parakeets), reptiles (geckos, snakes) and know how to properly handle them. I have volunteered/fostered/adopted with the following rescues: Greyhound Pets of America, Italian Greyhound Rescue New England, East Coast Italian Greyhound Rescue, Animal Soup Rescue and Sanctuary, Lowell Humane Society, Poodle Rescue CT, Greyhound Friends and Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. I am also a former Dog Daycare Counselor. I am the proud parent of many rescued pets including a Lab, Poodle and Greyhound. We also have chickens and ducks, a dove, mice and a gerbil.
