Certified K9 Trainer/Specialist
Pet care experience
My name is Alayna and I recently moved to Arizona from the Midwest. I am a dog person to my core! I have two babies of my own and have over 4 years of experience working with dogs. I am a Certified Balanced K9 Trainer and have worked as a trainer for almost 2 years now. It is absolutely my passion to help both dogs and their owners build an unbreakable bond and more enjoyable lifestyle together. I have also managed a dog daycare/boarding/grooming facility that housed up to 220 dogs at a time. I am canine CPR certified and able to administer any and all types of medications and injections. I have also worked closely with other dog professionals (other trainers, behavioralists, vets, etc.) in a quest to always keep expanding my knowledge of dogs and the dog world. I pride myself on the ability to create and maintain meaningful client and dog relationships, having the vast knowledge about dogs that I possess, and my thorough and excitable work ethic.
Reviews
Alayna has dog/house sat with our GSD and done drop in visits for him and a new puppy. She’s great! She loves them and they love her! She’s very patient too with our new, high energy puppy, and gives our older dog lots of love. She also sends regular updates with pictures.
Alayna took great care of our Lucy and provided regular updates! We appreciated her flexibility with drop off and pick up times as well!
She is EXCELLENT with animals and will take care of your pet as if it were your own. Alayna cares and treats each animal with the utmost respect. Highly, highly recommend Alayna!
Alayna is awesome! Both of my dogs have stayed with her several times, and they always come home sleepy and happy. She always makes sure to keep my updated while I’m gone, which is so important to me. They each have different meds they take and complicated food instructions and she does a great job making sure they get what they need. My dogs get so excited to see her, and I love having someone I can rely on when I have to leave them.

Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
With the experience I have working with dogs, the services I provide are expansive. I am both flexible with my schedule and open-minded. After working with thousands of dogs, I have learned each dog is its own individual, just like us humans. With safety at the forefront of my care and services, I am quickly adaptable to each dog in order to provide them the best personalized care I can. Whether it's keeping an elderly dog medicated and comfortable in its own home or caring for and helping a young puppy become properly socialized with the world around it, I am well-equipped and eager!
Information Alayna D. would like to know about your pet
I always gather the following standard information (age, breed, vaccinations, medical history, etc.) first from clients. I then like to allow clients to tell me anything and everything about their dog. The more I feel I know, the better I can care for that specific dog in the best way I know how! Open communication is vital I have found in maintaining positive relationships with not just clients, but especially their pups!
A typical day
A happy dog in my professional experience is a dog whose brain and body are BOTH tired. Working a dogs brain with some training and proper socialization along with physical activity is always a winner. I love the outdoors and finding new parks, dog-friendly stores and public spaces to take the dogs I work with! We live in a very urban human-run world and it is our jobs as humans to provide guidance to dogs to navigate such a world in a confident and happy manner.

Pet care is a daily routine I immerse myself in with my own two dogs. Along with the typical feedings and potty breaks, we train anywhere from 15 minutes up to 2 hours a day per dog. We do anything from basic/advanced obedience, confidence-building, learning neutrality, teaching them calm states of minds, and more! All while building our bond together! I also work as a self-employed Balanced K9 Trainer and am slowly building my training business here in my new home of Arizona! I maintain positive relationships with clients and their dogs - always ready to respond efficiently to any of their questions, concerns or updates they send my way on top of training itself. I also am always active in discourse with fellow dog professionals like myself to stay up-to-date about ways to be the best dog owner/professional that I can. My days, weeks, and life revolve around dogs and I cannot complain one bit!
