I just moved to La Jolla from the East coast for a PhD program at UCSD. I have a passion for animals of all types and would love to take care of yours while working to pay off my student loans. I grew up with dogs all my life—from Rottweilers, German shepherds, and pit bulls to small terriers and mixed breeds—and recently fostered a terrier mix named Violet from Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation in VA before moving to CA. I also owned a hedgehog and leopard gecko, though I've had numerous types of exotics and small mammals over the years. I do offer discounted rates for services extending over multiple days and am willing to discuss a setup that works for both parties. However, I do have a small puppy (1 yr or under) fee for dogs who have not yet developed leash manners or are potty training. Unfortunately I cannot make a long-term commitment (up to 2 weeks is fine) to drop-ins at this time. I would be pleased to also discuss check in visits and overnights involving cats, small mammals, or reptiles. I have experience caring for a variety of animals, including lizards, turtles, ferrets, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, etc. In addition to owning my own animals, I also have experience volunteering for a veterinarian and working at both a zoo and my college's vivarium (where I even trained capuchin monkeys).
