Matt and I are a responsible couple in our late 20's & we LOVE dogs! We have each been caring for, training, and loving our dogs and our friend's dogs for over 20 years! We rescued our dog, Avery, three years ago and she is our household's resident pup-companion. Avery is easy going, very friendly, and loves sharing her bones, balls, toys, and humans with other pups! Matt and I both work for technology companies about a mile away from home and have the option to work from home which allows one or both of us to be home as needed! Our mornings, days, and nights consist of walks, belly rubs, trips to the dog park, play time, ear scratches, and sitting out on our fully enclosed private garden patio with the pups! We have an SUV and are able to do pick ups, drop offs, trips to the vet, and of course drive the pups to some good hiking spots for some new smells & exercise! We have used Dog Vacay ourselves in the past when we've gone out of town and we strive to provide the same great and easy experience that we had with our hosts to you and your dog! This was a my first dog vacay experience and I am so fortunate that it was with Alana and Matt. I recently moved to the area and Tucker was always cared for by a family member so I was more than nervous about the experience. I think I reviewed almost every profile on the site. I met with several sitters and after meeting with Alana, Matt and Avery I knew that Tucker would be in very good hands! They put me at ease with constant updates, Instagram pictures and answering any questions or concerns I had along the way. I am so happy with my experience that I have booked at least 5 more reservations with Alana & co. Leaving a part of your family (your dog) behind while traveling is never easy, however, knowing they are in good hands makes all the difference and you can rely on that with Alana! Thank you Alana, Matt and Avery and we will be seeing you soon!!
Alana and Matt were FANTASTIC!!! We booked them pretty last minute and not only were both of them able to do a meet and greet the same day with their adorable dog Avery, they were incredibly friendly and accommodating of our trip. We were a little nervous because we had just rescued our dog and we hated leaving her so soon, but it definitely put us more at ease knowing she was being taken so well care of - which we could see by the texts, pictures, and instagram account...we were a little nervous she was having so much fun she wouldn't want to come back to us!!!
Alana and Matt were terrific hosts! Reggie doesn't always love being around other dogs, but their pup, Avery, is a certified therapy dog and was as sweet as can to be Reggie. Alana sent daily photos and texts with updates on what they did during the day, and it was obvious Reggie had a great time with them over the weekend. Also, they have an Instagram (@Paws1st) which I loved checking throughout my trip! I definitely hope to use them again next time I am out of town!
Thanks to Alana and Matt, we're DogVacay converts! Furthermore, I think we've found our trusted dog-sitters from here on out. They, along with their canine companion, Avery, made our little Delilah feel right at home. From the prompt booking, to the thorough doggie questionnaire and clear pre-drop-off communication, to constant pup updates via photos and their dedicated Instagram and their utmost flexibility, we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. Their apartment is the perfect set-up, clad with a sunny outdoor patio--ideal for dogs! We're celebrating out one-year wedding anniversary next month and have already inquired with Alana.
