Pet care experience
I am the resident dog watcher / whisperer in all of my family and friend circles. I take care of my Grandmother's dog daily, often help friends to give meds or potty their dogs when their schedules run over, and am quick to accept longer duration dog/house sitting requests.

Thank you! This is the first time having a sitter that wasn’t family taking care of my dog and my sisters 2 dogs together. I appreciate you spending time with them! They are funny but can be a handful but it looks like they all had a great time!
I would highly recommend Alana to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter and wants to have a kind, responsible, and knowledgeable person to care for their pets while they're away and be able to enjoy their time off without having to worry about their pets, as they would be in safe and very capable hands.
Alana took care of my two pups while we were on a family vacation. My dogs loved her! She fed them, played and even worked on some new skills. She updated me with pics and videos of them. I’m think they might actually like her more than me. 😀
Alana kept both my senior yorkiepoo at my apartment, and my large pit-mix after I moved into a house. She’s very responsible, reliable, and does a great job caring for dogs of all shakes and sizes. I’d have her pet sit for me again without hesitation!

My main priorities are to ensure your fur babies are safe and well cared for. Once an initial rapport with the pup is established, I like to spend different kinds of quality one-on-one time with them. If I'm just stopping by to feed them, give medicine, or potty outside, I usually like to stay a few minutes longer for a good rub down or just provide some company in what may be a really lonely day. For longer visits, quality time could include playing with toys, teaching them to use the doggy door, going on a longer walk, or cuddling on the couch while we watch TV. I am happy to take your pup on a long(er) walk IF he/she is leash trained. If they are not leash trained, then I would require time to help get them use to the leash before committing us to a longer trek. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Temperament quirks and tendencies are helpful to know. i.e. Watch out for squirrels or is aggressive around other dogs. Allergies and Vet info are always nice to have.
A typical day
Playing with the pup, really getting to know them, going for walks, and maybe introducing them to Golden Girls. Depending on the breed and personality, I've learned most dogs need attention and physical touch - and I'm happy to give it!

Availability
1) My availability is often flexible with respect to your location, care needs, and my work schedule. 2) When caring for an animal for the first time, I ask that the owner be home briefly to show the animal that I am allowed to be there. This is for my safety and to help reduce any anxiety she/he may have while Mom/Dad are gone. 3) I can only take care of dogs out of the owner's home at this time. I am allergic to cats, so dogs only please.
