Its all about the dogs needs

Pet care experience

Yes, I'm one of those pet lovers who drive in the winter with the rear windows half down, so dogs can hang their heads out the window! I'm passionate about dogs, and its important for me to place all my focus on your furry one. Whether its during a casual walk, or keeping a close eye on their endurance and stamina during a run, 100% of my focus is on them and their surroundings. No talking on phones or listening to music allowed! When in the house, my hand automatically goes out to touch them as they walk by, or decide to curl up next to me. I think that's why I have never had a negative experience with a dog: I understand their language and work to establish and maintain a bond. I have one dog, Radar, who shares the home with me. A medium sized dog, he is very well socialized, going to doggy daycare often for a change of pace. He is submissive by nature, but very interested in engaging with other dogs. So if you have a dog that wants to complete a 2 mile walk in less than 20 minutes, or one that prefers a more sedate pace and stops to smell all the bushes, I'm the person for you. I love all dogs, all types, and consider it my mission to give them the same love and care that you do.

Alan was great with my 1-year-old Golden Retriever. He had a gentle way with her, and clearly enjoys being with dogs. Knowing my pooch likes walks in the woods, he took her to Bridle Trails State Park. During her stay, he sent photos to keep me posted on how she was doing. I definitely will have Biscuit stay with him again.

I have very few restrictions on where your dog can go in the house, or furniture they can lay on. My dog spends most of his day with me, laying on the bed nearby as I work. I always take breaks just to go over an pet him, giving regular attention throughout the day.

Information Alan S. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any breed preferences, but like to get information from the owner about their pets likes and dislikes, are there certain kinds of people they are uncomfortable around, are they needy if you are not in the same room, what is their eating and walking schedule, all the things that go into maintaining their normal routine. Dogs are most happy when there is no change in their routine.

A typical day

I do not live far from Bridle Trails Park. Depending on what activities your dog is used to, or considers a treat, I will take your lead on what we will do. I am a runner, so love to take the more active breeds for a run. For older dogs or breeds with shorter legs, we might take a more sedate pace, but always with the opportunity to stop and sniff the trees, bushes, flowers, or whatever we might encounter! Depending on the length of stay and with the parents approval, we might head off to the dog park at Marymoor Park. Some dogs do well in this environment, and get the opportunity to meet friends, or go in the water. Where outdoor activities might be a concern, we can still roll a ball in the house, play with toys, or engage in tug-of-war. It all depends on what you as the owner let me know your furry kid likes. The most important is to always maintain the dogs routine, being aware of their likes and dislikes, and to keep them mentally engaged so they fully enjoy their stay.

I work from home on my own schedule, so will have plenty of time to interact with your pup and go for regular walks. As noted, I have my dog Radar as a play companion, so your pet can interact as much or as little as their heart desires.
