Experienced animal lover!
Pet care experience
I have always loved and owned animals and can't (and don't want to) imagine a world without pets of all kinds. I have worked professionally with animals for the past 7 years, 3 of which included working in both adoptions and animal behavior at a local shelter. This experience has made me comfortable working around a wide variety of animals and given me an understanding of many different animal behaviors. I have worked with just about every breed of dog, from chihauhua to mastiff, as well cats of all personalities, from cuddle bug to quite literally feral and unhandleable. (And horses, reptiles, rats and other small mammals, and even a tarantula as well!) I am comfortable, willing, and maybe even prefer working with timid, fearful, or otherwise anxious pets and can absoltuely accommodate both behavioral and physical special needs. I have an understanding, albeit very basic, of animal medicine and am comfortable administering oral, intranasal, and injectible medications and am certified to administer vaccinations. I am certainly not a veterinarian and could not treat your pet medically but I am able to administer basic first aid. I do not condone the use of shock collars, prong collars, physical force, or other adverse and painful training approaches and am not comfortable administering them. If you prefer this approach, please be advised I will not utilize these methods while caring for your pet. I am happy to utilize positive reinforcement methods to help encourage good behavior and basic manners.
Reviews
Alex was very communicative, helpful, and very reliable! Alex wrote up a great overview after walking our dog and sent photos as well. It made our day. Thank you for taking such good care of our dog :)
Great updates on our dog and she seemed really happy! Well fed and had great walks. He even left her homemade dog treats.
Always great communication and dependable as always!
Great as always. Max and Leo always have a great time with Aki and I know we can trust her to take good care of them.

Time away from our pets can be stressful, for both us and our pets. My goal is to make the time apart as comforting and relaxing as possible. Every pet and home have their own needs and routines that work best for them, and I am happy to do my best to adapt. For care provided in the home, nothing potentially harmful will ever be left out. I have worked with door dashers, trash getters, house soilers, resource guarders, reactive rovers, and pretty much any other behavioral concerns you may have and likely have at least some experience managing it.
Information Alexander S. would like to know about your pet
Does your pet have any favorites - a favorite treat, toy, place to go, etc? Does your pet have any special needs, allergies, or behavioral concerns? If so, what are they? What type of exercise does your pet prefer? Is your pet friendly with other animals? If your dog likes other dogs, is there a specific size or energy level your dog plays better with? Anything you'd like me to know? All breeds are welcome.
A typical day
What your pet's day looks like depends entirely on what your pet would want their day to look like. Just like people, every pet has their own likes and dislikes, and I'm happy to work with you and your pet to come up with a routine that works for you both.

Availability
I am currently working remotely with flexible scheduling, which allows me to work around what you and your pet want and need. I have my own dogs, so even when pet sitting in your home there will be times when I leave your home to care for them. During these times, I will do whatever you and your pet prefer, be it crating, giving free roam, closing off part of the home, or whatever other arrangement works best. If you require or strongly prefer someone at the home at all times and only need care for a night or two please let me know, I may be able to work with you.
