Pet care experience
I’ve had the joy of owning pets since a very young age, I started dog-walking, pet sitting, and boarding for family, friends and neighbours by 13. I have a kitten of my own, a DMH I adopted from a shelter. I also do occasionally care for my landlord’s two dogs and cat when needed. Small breed mixes senior dogs, and a mainecoon-siamese mix elder cat. I’ve raised kittens and puppies, domesticated feral cats, and fostered dogs. I’ve also trained puppies with basic commands. Potty training, nail trimming for cats, litter box cleaning (including deep cleans), leash training, bathings and brushing both cats and dogs, and administering oral medication are a few skills I have acquired. I am trustworthy , responsible, responsive and patient. Ready to take on any task. Low energy senior animals, or fast paced young ones, whatever it may be. I am self-employed leaving my schedule very flexible. Monday-Friday, any time of the day, even holidays. I accept short notice bookings as well. Akelia has been very good with my girl Venelope. She is a small dog and incredibly lazy, but definitely gets up to greet Akelia at the door. I always return to a tidy home and a happy dog. She is very accommodating, as I call her at random times for a spontaneous stay with Venel, when I work an on call job. I want to be alone for a while sorry
Akelia is a very loving and lively girl. Very respectful to not only me but also my home and my animals. I have 2 dogs that have had a bad experience with a groomer wich left them traumatized and untrusting of people including myself and my family for a while. Within the first day one of my dogs were cuddling up to her, and by a few weeks both of my dogs were in love with her. I also have a very skittish cat, that was comfortable enough to allow Akelia to pet her by the first few days. Currently after months of Akelia's care she comes running the moment she hears her voice. My cat also has a few allergies, Akelia has been great on following instructions regarding her allergy restrictions and administering her daily needed medicine. Akelia is very great with my animals, and incredibly trustworthy. I definitely recommend her.

If petsitting I like to do a meet and greet with both the owner and the animal. This can be the same day, even an hour before the agreed time. I am very good when it comes to following instructions, and also detail oriented. I understand that it could be quite stressful to leave your pet in the care of another person, and I make it my goal to make sure that you and your fur-baby is comfortable.

I’d like to know if your pets have any known behaviour issues, trauma or triggers. If they have a favourite toy or walking path to take. If they have any allergies or medications needed at specific times. Are they reactive towards other animals and people or not.
A typical day
I am quite energetic and can match up to your pets nicely. A game of fetch, tug, or tossing treats for highly energetic dogs. Sitting and enjoying a movie with cuddles and treats for low energy pets. A nice long walk/job or a short quick stroll, either one is within my capabilities.

I am a student, but I will not be returning to school until September, so my schedule is quite free to take on your pet care needs.
