Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for animals since I was about 11 years old. Initially, it was just my neighbor’s cat, Ginger, but eventually I also started caring for dogs. I got a dog of my own when I was 11 and have been responsible for her care ever since. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages and breeds, and I love them all. I am able to handle larger dogs pretty easily because of my age, and they are so much fun to walk! I’m also experienced with skittish dogs and dogs who do not like other dogs. I have experience with things like insulin shots for animals if that needs to be done because Ginger had diabetes in her later years. I have also had a little bit of experience with snakes and birds.

Aislynn did a great job checking in on our kitties while we were gone for a week. She arrived promptly and texted with detailed updates and pictures. This takes the guess work out of wondering how the pets are doing! We really appreciate her attention to our cats and our home while we were gone. I am not sure if I will offer boarding yet, but if I do, I have a large back yard, but it is not fenced in. I will let them outside on a leash if that would suit them. We have a friendly, large neighborhood that is perfect for walking dogs. We also have a decent sized house for them to run around in. If you have a cat that enjoys solitude, there are plenty of places for them to hang out without interruption other than me checking in on them. My pet care will vary from pet to pet depending on their personalities and instructions from the owner.

Please be sure to let me know if your dog has any special needs, needs any kind of medicine, is skittish with people or other dogs, or has had any history of aggression. This does not mean I won’t accept the booking, but it will help me come better prepared to care for your pet. Also, please let me know anything you feel like I need to know about the animal, the house, the neighbors, etc.
A typical day
I will usually walk them around the neighborhood a few times per day, but I am also willing to take them to dog parks or trail walking if the owner would like me to! I love playing tug of war and fetch with them as well. Occasionally, I’ll hide a treat (not too difficult to find) and let them find it. Kind of like hide and seek.

Availability
I currently have a part time job that is weekend heavy. I am on call on Thursdays, so I could have to go in for 3-4 hours maximum. I only work every other Friday and only a 6 hour shift. Saturdays are also a mix of 5-6 hour shifts. Sunday is my longest day at an 8 hour shift, but I don’t go in until 11:30am. Please keep this in mind when booking me! If your dog needs constant care or cannot be left alone for a few hours, I am probably not the best sitter for you (unless you are booking on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). However, if you book more than 4 weeks in advance, I may be able to get off of work on the days you’ll need me. I’m flexible, so just let me know! Also, I can do drop ins up to 3 times a day any day of the week except Sunday. I would just be able to do two on Sunday (unless you book 4 weeks in advance, then I can do however many you need). If you have any questions about my schedule, please feel free to ask me!
