My mother has rescued animals of all types her entire life so I've always been surrounded by them and helped take care of them. I grew up in a farm in Nebraska and showed animals in 4H from 8 to 18 years of age. As an adult I've owned cats and dogs, but they've all passed away from old age over the years. I love dogs of all sizes and all ages. I work from home full time and my work schedule is very relaxed/flexible so there wouldn't be an issue tending to pets whenever they need attention. My home is clean and quiet. It is currently pet free. I have a large back yard that is fully fenced in and live near Liberty Park if your dog wants to have a more social walking experience.
