Friendly, Caring, Authentic

Pet care experience

I care, tremendously, about the well-being of dogs and all animals. It is a rewarding experience to meet those who love and cherish their dog that I can build a great connection with and become one of their caretakers and dog friend. I delight in creating a comfortable, caring, and balanced home for your beloved canine companion to stay. I think dogs are essential to a fulfilling life and, though I am not ready to have one of my own yet, I love taking care of and befriending your dog. Having you feel and know they are going to be taken care of exceptionally well while you are away is my intention. Some other things about me: - Your dog's comfort, safety, and happiness is my #1 priority - 10+ years experience caring for dogs - Very clean, warm, and joyful living space - Problem-free and friendly - Excellent communicator (frequent updates and photos of your dog sent) - Consistently mindful of your dog's needs - Frequent walks to surrounding parks and short hikes (if ok) - Your dog is welcome to make themselves comfortable at my house when I am temporarily away running errands or working part-time. I do not own or have ever used a crate. If this is part of your dog's routine I can accommodate. - I take care of one dog at a time and prefer to as well (except for very rare circumstances communicated with and approved by both owners) - 5+ years experience working in neighborhood pet stores. -Chemical-free and well-maintained yard and property. I welcome and treat your dog like they are part of my family right from the start and we always become great pals! They will go home to you healthy and happy! There is a neighborhood park conveniently nearby for "meet and greets" before seeing my home.

Aimee had my dog for 10 days. She was such an amazing sitter! As soon as they met, he felt extremely comfortable with her. He isn't like that with everyone he meets so I knew it was a great fit right away! I got constant updates and pictures, which I absolutely loved. He had an injury right before we left and she took great care of him while we were gone. I will definitely be using Aimee in the future :)

Information Aimee P. would like to know about your pet

Have they stayed at a new pet sitter's house before? How are they around other dogs? Do they have any separation anxiety? Do they have any food allergies if I offer them a treat?

A typical day

This neighborhood is very safe and pleasant for going on walks with several parks and natural areas close by. If your dog just needs to go out in the yard for potty breaks and fresh air throughout the day, I go out with them, connected on a leash, and we walk around for a generous amount of time. If your dog likes to go on short errands, they are welcome to ride with me in the car and also go to different parks and places around Vancouver and sometimes Portland along the way. I have a 93' Subaru Legacy in great condition equipped with a comfortable level back section and blanket/cover for your dog to lay on. If time allows, I enjoy taking them to Thousand Acres, Mt. Tabor, nearby hikes, and other places dogs are allowed (on a leash). I carry a 3 gallon water container in my car, travel bowl, and towels so your dog will always have access to fresh water and will stay warm if they get wet. I carry a water bottle and dish for them on hikes. If you prefer, I can attach a dog-specific seat belt strap to their harness for safety while in the car. I can assure you they will come home tired but not overworked.
