Back in 2001 we adopted a six-year old female Labrador, Nena, from Labrador Rescue Florida, and from that point my love for big dogs has grown. In 2009 we adopted a three-year old Black Lab, Cody, also from LRF, and he made the move from Florida to Texas with us in 2012. In 2016 we decided to adopt our first Labrador puppy, Sanibel, a beautiful charcoal-colored girl. Two years later we adopted our second puppy, Destin, who is an active and loving Silver-Chocolate boy. Life has been fun from that point on; caring for them, teaching them commands, and enjoying them as a part of our family. Big dogs don’t get the credit they deserve; some people are scared of them because of their size. However, they don’t realize these dogs can be much more friendly than the little ones. Don’t get me wrong - I like small and medium size dogs. . .but I have a special place in my heart for the big ones!
