I make it priority to walk dogs first thing in the morning, and if not also mid-day, trust they'll be stretching their legs again by evening. I am an independent contractor (so I have a flexible schedule). I offer private training, yoga instruction and do bodywork from home, so pets are often even welcome to join me at work. The pups who stay with me are guaranteed to make more friends in town. I do a lot of walking around and keep dogs under my care attached at the hip as much as possible, unless of course we're in an off leash area :) Especially for longer stays, you can expect to receive regular updates with photos/mini clips via the app or text, whatever your preference.
