Pet care experience
I have been a proud dog mom of a rescue pup for the past 4 years, but I have been pet sitting for long before that. I grew up with dogs and would regularly pet sit for neighbors from middle school on. I adopted my dog Kiwi in January of 2020 and she came to me with a lot of trauma. She experienced intense separation anxiety, was anxious around other dogs, and was not obedience trained. I took classes with her and worked with one-on-one trainers in order to help her adjust. These experiences have helped me to build trusting relationships with other dogs, as well. My terrier mix is 5 and is 20 pounds, but I lived with a 105 pound pitbull/boxer/German shepherd mix for the past 2 years (from puppyhood on) in Wisconsin, and now live with 2 cats here in Philadelphia. These multi-pet living situations have helped me to navigate inter-pet relationships and have given me confidence in caring for all kinds of pets. In addition, I am comfortable with harness and leash work with dogs of all sizes. Aside from dog and cat care, I have also regularly done rabbit sitting over the past 4 years. I have taken obedience and rescue dog training classes with my own dog, so I am familiar with the body language and behaviors that can help anxious pets become more comfortable around a new person. I am comfortable walking dogs of all sizes, giving baths, cleaning litter boxes, changing puppy pads, and any other pet related tasks that you would like.

A typical day
I love going for walks, especially around nature! Your pup(s) and I can explore parks, trails, and neighborhoods together. At home, we can play fetch, tug of war, chase, or puzzle games. We can even do training exercises to work on obedience! No matter what, we'll have lots of fun!

Availability
I am currently a graduate student at Penn and only have classes on Mondays-Wednesdays, so I am extremely flexible. Even on the days when I do have classes, I have plenty of time to check in on pets throughout the day. Notably, for house sitting, I am not able to stay overnight because of my own dog. However, I can spend a good deal of the day with them and can check in early in the morning and late at night so that they are not alone too long.
