I grew up with a great number of animals (sugar gliders, chinchillas, parrots, cats, dogs) in the family, and volunteered extensively with a local wildlife rehab center back home in Miami, FL. I myself lived with two Havanese dogs (Cookie & Tobi) at my father's home, a husky (Coquí) at my mother's, and a Dachsund (Jessie) and Golden Retriever (Elmer) at my grandmother's! Aside from regularly interacting with, and caring for these dogs, I would frequently dogsit/dogwalk for my relatives and family-friends in the area (mostly a set of bull mastiffs (Gypsy & Calypso) and an Aussie Shepherd (Gunnar) - Needless to say, I'm comfortable working with, and handling, animals in general, but I definitely have large amounts of personal experience with dog-friends! Having worked with injured wildlife ranging from bald eagles to tortoises, I am confident in my ability to earn an animal's trust and champion animal's safety and rights =)
