Pet care experience
I am dependable and I have a flexible work schedule - I rarely work more than 5 hours back to back and I have a 3 hour long mid-day break. Also I am off 3 days a week, and I am outdoors most of that time -with my dog and yours, of course. I grew up with dogs and cats and Tank -my current dog- is 9 years old. He is a Blue Lacey who is well trained and socialized, although he sometimes is reactive to intact males - which is why I cannot host unneutered animals. That particular behavioral trait aside, he is one super chill dog. I also have a cat named Ginger who is 14 years old and dog-friendly. Ginger is a great judge of canine character and she gets the final word on whether or not I decide to board your animal - she lives here and since I want to make sure all are having a good time I will not host a cat-reactive canine. As an aside, she seems to have a harder time with herding breeds so a meet-and-greet is definitely in order if your dog is that. Please read the following carefully. I want to provide your animal with the best stay possible. To that effect, we will go on daily walks of 30 minutes (minimum), 2 to 3 times per day, weather and schedule permitting. We will also go on hikes in the foothills or the Bosque, if that is something you are okay with. Of course, I will abide by your rules and while my dog is allowed on furniture, yours does not have to be if that is not allowed at your house. I will follow your recommendations regarding food, treats, whether or not your animal is allowed table scraps (mine usually get treated to salmon and chicken skin, on a very irregular basis) etc etc Point is, I want a positive result to the following equation: (your animal+your rules) + (My house+my rules) Finally, the following checklist is for you to determine whether I am a good fit for your animal. My dog being well-trained, I have an expectation that yours will be as well. Does your dog know the following commands? -sit; -lay down; -stay and/or, wait; -come -go to your place/bed (optional); -leave it and/or, drop it (also optional) Is your dog house-broken? (yes=super, no=I am sorry I cannot board your animal) Does your dog suffer from separation anxiety? (no=super, yes= I am sorry I cannot board your animal) Does your dog have good off-leash recall (yes=super, no=that's okay, we will stay on leash) Also, while not mandatory, the following skills are appreciated: -loose leash walking; -being non-reactive to other dogs while on a daily walk; -no food aggression; An alternate sitter is also appreciated (although, not required) in case your dog's stay at my house does not go well. I typically do not board more than one dog at a time, with the exception of cross-over days (one dog being picked-up and another dog being dropped off), which happen infrequently. If you think I am the right sitter for you, please do not hesitate to contact me for a meet-and-greet at my house. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Walks are usually taken around the neighborhood or at the different open spaces around the city -mostly Embudo, Embudito and Elena Gallegos. We also frequent the Rio Grande State Park as well as different spots along the river. If you have restrictions or special directions, please do let me know. A safe dog is a happy dog and I want you to feel comfortable leaving your canine in my care.
