Your dog's new best friend 😊

Pet care experience

Hello! My name's Adam and I love to fill my life up with animals. My professional background is in emergency services, animal rehabilitation, and detection dog handling, so needless to say your furry friends will be happy and safe with me! My mission is to speak for animals and to increase their quality of life to the best of my ability. When it comes to choosing someone to watch over your beloved companion, experience, confidence and reliability are important factors to consider. If you decide to hire me, you can rest assured that I will meet these requirements and more, while treating your dog with the utmost care and respect. Experience wise, I've had many animals come through my life, including puppies, palliative senior dogs, and dogs with special needs. I'm experienced in working with dogs with visual impairments, paralysis, and chronic pain. In addition to owning four dogs, I've also fostered numerous others (many who were reactive), and worked to ease their anxieties and triggers as I helped find them their forever homes through a Vancouver animal rescue I volunteered with. I've also volunteered at various animal shelters, including a sanctuary in Thailand which was home to over 500 rescued dogs (among many other animals!). Part of my duties included providing hands on assistance with sick and injured dogs in the clinic, as well as supporting the vaccination programs. Recently I have worked as a canine handler at VGH, where I trained working-line canines to sniff out diseases in hospitals. I currently volunteer weekly at a local animal shelter. I'm in the process of obtaining my Canine Bodyworker Certification and will be happy to provide wellness massages to your furry friends as an extra service with the approval of your veterinarian. I am Canine First Aid certified and experienced in providing injectable and oral medication. I own a reliable vehicle with appropriate safety equipment to keep your pet secure in the event you require pickup/drop off service. I would be more than happy to offer my home as a place for you to keep your dog(s) for a day, a night, or a longer period of time when you require it. I enjoy being outside and active so you can count on them getting plenty of exercise, no matter the weather. I'm also available to stay at your place if desired, as I know dogs are most comfortable in their own homes. For the days I am not available, please feel free to reach out anyway as I may be able to accommodate you. Let me know how I can be of service for you and your animals! Thanks for reading :)

Thank you for making my little girl feel at home! Adam is a true dog guy and I felt comfortable leaving my baby with him for the first time.

I recently had the pleasure of using Adam’s services for the first time, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. Not only did he show up on time, but he also exhibited a genuine affection and understanding towards my dog. What truly stood out was the thoughtful gesture of giving my dog a toy and my dog absolutely loves it!

Adam was awesome. Communicated well in advance of our walk and sent updates of the dogs at Pacific Spirit. Highly recommend him - Bodie does too!

Grateful to Adam B. for providing such excellent care of our 2 year old Red Golden Field Retriever 'River'. Highly recommend his services!! Our first experience utilizing Rover & couldn't be more pleased. Booking & communication with Adam went so smoothly; Adam is very prompt & proactive in his responses & planning for boarding, confirming booking details & initiating pre-care meet & greet at a mutually convenient location. His rapport & supportive approach to ensuring River was reassured while away from her home & family for a weeks timespan & calmly transitioned into his care made the experience successful for all. We could relax knowing River was in such good hands. His openess to having our affectionate River sleep near him & cuddle up on couches really helped River settle & feel safe. Adam provided fun outdoor exercise opportunities in nearby parks, daily walks & even wilderness hiking adventures! Meeting our active dog's needs. He provided regular updates & photos during her stay which our family really appreciated! We will definitely be accessing Adam's excellent care & services when needed again & highly recommended his services to others! ~ Roslyn Richardson & Family

I have a very comfortable living setup with a comfy couch (animal friendly!) dog beds, and tons of toys and treats. Happy to let your pet sleep in my bed as well, if they desire. I also have access to a small, partly fenced yard for them to run around in on-leash as well as numerous nearby parks. I will use positive reinforcement with your animals and treat them with kindness and patience. Bathroom breaks will be every 1-3 hours.

Information Adam B. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know about your dog's behavior, diet, reactivity triggers, how they are with other dogs, any medical issues, etc, and anything else that might be pertinent so I can respect his/her comfort levels. Please let me know about any special needs and any training goals I can support you with.

A typical day

I would be happy to take your dogs on runs with me to burn some energy, or if they like to take life a little slower I will also be happy to take them on sniffaries around the neighborhood. I have a vehicle with essential canine safety equipment so I am available for pickups/drop offs as well. I have plenty of enrichment ideas to make their time with me fun and stimulating, for example wrapping their breakfast in a towel to provide a fun challenge of finding all the kibble, or hiding their kibble in the house so they have to use their scenting abilities to sniff them out. Your pet will get regular pee breaks and lots of play time!
