Pet care experience
I am a biology student at VWU and an Animal Ambassador Assistant at the Virginia Aquarium. I have fish, lizards, and rabbits of my own and I would love to help out any fellow exotic owners when they need to leave town. I am not afraid of snakes, bugs, or rodents and have over 100 hrs of husbandry and food prep experience for reptiles and small mammals. I would love to do drop ins as much as your pet needs! Right now I have new boarding clients on hold as my dogs are getting older and prefer the house all to themselves. I highly recommend anxious dogs for drop ins because they are most comfortable in a familiar environment!

Abigail has taken care of our Labsky a few times now and we are absolutely delighted with the fact that we found her. Our dog loves going to her place. We are always certain that our dog will have mini vacation every dropoff.

When I come to you, I’ll make sure everything is the way I found it. I will keep an eye on your pets’ comfort levels and update you if anything is out of the ordinary. Reptiles will be fed when needed, and enclosures will get spot cleaned and fresh water bowls! I can do water changes on fish tanks if requested. At home, I have a room set aside where guest dogs can have their own space. If a guest pet decides they want to sleep under the desk (it’s happened before!), then I’ll make accommodations for that. Fenced in yard, medium crate available.

-Absolutely no boarding of aggressive dogs, for the safety of the animals and people. If you really need assistance, I’d be happy to make drop ins for a higher rate. Everyone deserves a vacation. -Preferably, dogs should be friendly towards other dogs since I currently have my own. I can keep them separate easily, but it would be best if they got along as best as possible. -Let me know about any anxieties/fears ahead of time so that everyone is as comfy as possible. I strongly recommend that anxious dogs are not boarded, and instead, I come to them in your home. -I will not feed venomous snakes, but I will check on them. I have no breed preferences at this time- I have worked with dogs, cats, reptiles, and rodents. Please let me know ASAP if you need accommodations for your pet.
A typical day
If your dog is friendly with others, they can play with my Luna as long as they have the energy! Or, we will have plenty of outdoor and indoor playtime, walks, and down time. Many clients enjoy sitting on the couch with me while I get some work done or play a game. I’m a commuter student, so a lot of times guests get to play with my family members too. Often I will use my Canon camera to have a little photoshoot. It is nice to have higher quality photos of the pets for my clients to have/print out. For rabbits I engage them in healthy enrichment activities. They’ll get lots of pets and time to run.

Availability
I am a full-time student, so midday care can be a bit of a hassle to arrange. I am typically in class from 10am-3pm depending on the day. I will work with you to the best of my ability!
