I'm happily self-employed, and I formerly worked with a thriving veterinary hospital in Franklin. I'm currently pursuing my license as a Veterinary Technician. My love for animals is a life-long passion. I grew up in a home of animal lovers, so caretaking is in my blood. My mother was a cat person with an affinity for Siamese, and my father was a dog person whose pride and joy were his two Afghan Hounds. In my free time, I actively volunteer with horse and dog rescues, and with the Nashville Zoo. I'm happiest when I'm able to both help and learn, which is why I find volunteer work so fulfilling. Truthfully, my life cannot be too full of animals. My location is extremely convenient to anyone with easy access to I-65. I would be thrilled with the opportunity to meet you and your pet!

Feeling really disappointed with how my dog was treated while I was away... I was informed by my neighbors that she wasn't there like she said she was or was paid to be and everytime someone else came in to check on my dog she had no food or water.
I cannot recommend Abby highly enough. Being Parents of a Special Needs dog we have always been terrified to leave her. Our 10 yr old puppy has a very strict schedule of food, insulin shots, seizure medication, pills 3 times a day and has recently begun losing her eye sight. It was great having Abby stay in our house. She made sure our pup had everything that she needed right on time, at her own pace, and in an environment that she is familiar with. I loved receiving the updates and being able to check in whenever I began to panic. We have already booked Abby again for next month. If she can take care of our puppy with all her special needs I know she would be great with the ones you love.

I firmly believe in getting to know each dog as an individual, while also remembering that every breed was specifically designed and bred for a certain set of ingrained behaviors. Most border collies like to herd, but some don't, and that's okay. Most beagles like to sniff, some don't, and that's okay. Most Labradors are big friendly goofballs, but some aren't, and that's okay. Ultimately I would appreciate knowing if your dog is excessively vocal, incontinent, or resource protective. Everything else, I can work around.
A typical day
I take my dog on a 1.5 mile walk every day to the park down the road. Copper never met a stranger and thinks everyone is his best friend. I love engaging with animals to learn their "quirks" and their favorite activities. My apartment complex also has a large, fenced-in area where well-behaved dogs can run, play and socialize.
