Hello, fellow animal lovers! My name is Abigail, and taking care of dogs is my passion. When I’m not working with my Rover clients, I’m at the shelter, where I volunteer on the behavior team and primarily work with fear-reactive and highly unsocialized dogs. I have worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, and I understand that it takes some dogs longer to warm up to new people. I am happy to do meet-and-greets and take the time to slowly build that trust and relationship. The first meet-and-greet is always free! Before accepting a booking, I will ask for detailed information regarding your dog's behavior, especially on walks. I make sure to know their triggers so I can avoid things that might make them anxious or reactive. If your dog has shown guarding/reactive behavior in the past, please let me know before we meet! If you are upfront with me about their needs and challenges, we can navigate them together and make sure that everyone has a safe, fun visit. Please note that I am a big believer in fear-free, force-free training, and I am not comfortable using shock or prong collars. If these are tools you currently use, I would love to talk to you about other options!

I met Abigail back when I worked at the Wilco shelter and she was recommended to me from the head behaviorist at the shelter so I was very happy to connect with her when in need of a new pet sitter! She was great with my boy Oats and he was very happy to have a new friend. She sent pictures and even a video of him zooming and sent info on how things went. It feels great to have a reliable pet sitter that I can trust 😊

Schedule
When sending a request, please give me a range of time of at least an hour that is acceptable for me to arrive at the booking. Dogs are unpredictable, and it's not uncommon for me to have to stay at a booking longer than expected. Having a window ensures that I am able to provide the best possible care to all of the animals I work with!
