Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Abby and my fiancée is Ryan. We’re a young couple who just bought our first house and while we love pets we can’t currently afford to have any of our own so we get our fix through pet sitting! We’ve both grown up with pets (cats for myself and dogs for Ryan) and we have pet-sat for a variety of family friends for the past 4 years. I know it can be tough finding the right person to look after your pets while you’re away, so I’m happy to meet with you and your pets to determine if we’ll be a good match first! We offer in-house pet sitting and we have a large, spacious backyard. We’re comfortable with dogs of all sizes as well as cats. I also know you may miss your pets while you’re away, so I am happy to provide regular updates over text with lots of photos to ensure you have peace of mind that your pet is in great hands!

Abby and Ryan took care of our 1yr old golden doodle for almost one month while we were away travelling. We met with them ahead of time to go over his schedule and needs, and were immediately reassured that our dog would be in great hands. Abby sent us lots of photos and updates about how he was adjusting to their home. We chose Abby and Ryan to watch our dog because we wanted him to get lots of one on one affection that he wouldn't get in a kennel. We will definitely reach out to Abby and Ryan in the future if we need a dog sitter. 10/10 recommend!!
Abby and her boyfriend absolutely love dogs. They have watched our dog bear several times when we have had extended absences from the home. They provide a great yard for running and have a comfortable home. Bear absolutely loves the attention she gets when he is there.

When your pets are with me I treat them like I would my own! We have a very large, spacious backyard, however it is not fenced-in, but if you can provide a long leash we would love to run around the yard and play fetch with your pup! I also recognize the importance of continuing training, so I am happy to continue to use commands or continue other training while you’re away. I believe that a tired dog is a happy dog, so I try my best to ensure dogs in my care receive enough physical and mental stimulation throughout the day. I also recognize that this is important for many cats as well, and I am happy to cuddle, play, or just be in the same room as your cat, depending on their preferences (because they can all be different!).

A typical day
I know it’s important to keep dogs engaged - a tired dog is a happy dog! I love going for walks both around my neighbourhood and on hiking trails. I also love running around with a ball and playing with dogs in my backyard. Chew treats and mental game toys are also great for dogs, and I love to give these to dogs especially if I know I need to leave them alone for a while.

Availability
I work a hybrid work schedule with three days in-office and two days working from home per week, and weekends off. I typically work from 8:30am - 4:30pm Mondays - Fridays, and my fiancée works in person from 8am - 5pm Mondays - Fridays. On the days I am working in office, Ryan is able to go home at lunchtime (around 12pm) to let out dogs and ensure they get a potty break.
