Your dog is part of my family

Pet care experience

I have experience raising high-energy puppies through low-energy senior dogs with medical problems. I am an active person and make sure my own dog gets all of the activity she needs. Pets are family to me, and I will treat your pet as my own family (and I treat my family very well)! My dog was abandoned by her previous owners. While I will never know what happened to her in her past life, I do know for sure that she is a scared dog that needs lots of love. I have worked so hard to get her out of her shell and know first hand that progress is slow, but patience is a virtue. What I love most about her is that she is so great with other dogs! Meeting Lucy at the dog park, you would never know that she is timid- she runs and plays just like a "normal" dog. If you have a dog that has an unknown past, needs some extra gentle love, etc., I'm your girl! I am open to all walks of life and look forward to the opportunity to meet your dog! I do not currently have a yard, but we take Lucy (and your dog, too!) to the park for at least an hour of play every day. On the weekends, we always go on long hikes, so everyone gets plenty of exercise!

She was great with our pup, very accommodating, gave him lots of attention and exercise, and gave us frequent updates! Highly recommend.

Abby took excellent care of our two dogs for two weeks. She obviously loves dogs. She was great at communicating with us throughout the stay, including sending photos almost daily. She also showed great patience with us regarding several idiosyncrasies about our dogs' feedings, walks, etc. She was very flexible and always displayed a wonderfully upbeat attitude. On the last day of the stay (literally as we were flying home early in the morning), Abby noticed one of our dogs seemed off (hurt or sick) and she reached out to describe her observations and offer to take the day off to stay with him, watch him, take him to his vet. That's dedication! Anyway, we'd happily have Abby watch our dogs again in the future.

Information Abby R. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences here- I know that each dog is unique regardless of breed. Before sitting your dog, I would love to hear more about them! Do they prefer to be in a crate or out in the open? Are they high-energy or low-energy? Are they okay around cats? Does your dog have any triggers? (Loud noises, a certain gender, etc.) Does your dog do okay in the car? (The dog park is about 10 minutes away)

A typical day

I live in a calm, quiet neighborhood with lots of places to walk. I take my dog to the dog park daily for an hour to an hour and a half for plenty of play time. Inside, we have plenty of room to play around, train, and just hang out!
