Pet care experience
I've taken care of a variety of dogs since I was 10-12. Some examples: mixed pitbulls, a brown lab, black schnauzer, golden retrievers and more. I've had my own dogs to take care of, but that has also extended to my family's dogs, and occasionally dogsitting for my friends/their families. I have more experience working with more senior dogs, but I'm totally open to branching out with younger dogs! I don't have any experience training puppies, but I have dogsitted puppies.
Reviews
Abbey did a great job taking care of our pup while we were in Bar Harbor!
Actually, Abbey deserves 0 stars. She did not pay attention to the date of our agreed upon booking, and she altered the booking to a day that we had no need for her, without checking to see if that would be acceptable. When I declined her alteration of the booking, I thought that it was cancelled. Unfortunately, Abbey was paid $34.41 for a service that she never provided. When I asked her to reimburse me (Venmo, Paypal, cash or even a check) she refused to, and would not respond to my request for reimbursement, either by phone or text. Her lack of responsibility, her willingness to take payment without rendering a service, her poor communication skills, and her inability to recollect her own work schedule render her a bad choice for a pet sitter.
Abbey was great with our dogs! She really helped us out of a pinch when we were traveling through Bar Harbor! They returned to me happy and well taken care of. She was great with communication as well.
Abbey was great. She sent pictures from both visits

Safety, trust & environment
I ensure the comfortability of each pet by making an introduction suited to the age and personality of the pet. (EX: a shyer pet might be more comfortable meeting me for the first time in their own home rather than go through the stress of transport...VERSUS a more extroverted pet would be better to meet while playing or doing something more active.) That being said I like to get more details about each pet from the owner before taking care of them for the first time, that way I get to know their quirks and can take care of them in the best way possible.
Information Abbey T. would like to know about your pet
Basically, I'd love to know favorite activities or treats, and whether the dog/pet has specific dietary restrictions. I also like to know whether there's anything specific that the owner would like me to do with their dog (whether it's walking on a familiar trail or whether I need to put booties/jackets on their dogs or any other maintenance things to ensure the comfort of their dog.)
A typical day
I love to do a variety of activities with each pet that I work with, whether that's just going for a run together, or playing frisbee, physical expercise is a must. I'm definitely working on figuring out more mental activities (I could recreate any activities that the pets are practicing with their owners as well.) My current favorite area is walking around College of the Atlantic's campus as it's so pretty and definitely a big enough area to get a good amount of exercise.

Availability
I'm currently a student at College of the Atlantic so I have classes to take into consideration during the day/afternoon, and I do my work study job in the early morning (about three to four days a week) on campus too. I'm hoping to have a job in the evenings about four days a week as well, but as of now I have no extra work going on so dog sitting is my main side hustle. On that note, I have plenty of time to play with and take care of dogs, cats, and other critters!
