I have watched and cared for my friends’ and family’s pets for years whenever they’re away on vacation or busy and stuck at work and aren’t able to come home as expected and the way I take care of and play and feed someone else’s pet is the way I would want someone to care for my own pet too, which is with love and compassion and trust and patience. A pet may be shy and timid and scared at first but over time they do become more comfortable and more familiar with you and they do begin to trust you and feel safe around you which is such a rewarding and validating feeling! I’ve been a pet person my entire life and I always immediately click with people who are the same way too themselves with their pets.
