About: I have previous experience in caring for an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix for long periods at a time. Being a high energy dog- I’m prepared for anything. I’m willing to help in whatever way I can- and provide your pet with love and attention! I have always had pets, but currently can’t afford to keep one myself. Growing up I had a Rottweiler and a Jack Russell, as I became a teenager we adopted a Pit Bull type dog who really changed my perception about the breed. I have high energy myself- so I love to be able to get dogs outside as much as possible and burn off a lot of their pent up energy. Dogs need it just as much as children do! I work a normal 9-5 job usually Monday- Friday but I have a partner who works from home, who I could argue loves pets as much as I do. I have a big yard and perfect sized home that is very safe for big and small pets as it is a single floor home. I do have a crate if needed for your fur baby and will treat them like my own pet.

I loved being around the pets and children which is why I use my extra free time to provide attentive and loving care to others babies and fur babies as well! I currently work from home full time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your fur babies. They would have my attention and care at any time needed as I have more than enough time on my hands. I live in an apartment complex close to the beach, so I am open to caring for them in your home or mine! Whichever works best for you!

With my current seasonal hours slowing down, your pets can be guaranteed a sitter with pretty open availability! I have a large backyard and one level home for your fur baby. I have access to 5 miles of shaded and accessible trails as well as a dog friendly beach. My furniture is meant to be enjoyed by four-legged friends and I love taking them on “field trips” to many of the natural areas I have access to!
About: I love dogs. I am currently a Daunt (Dog Aunt) to many dogs big and small! I love walking, being outside and playing with dogs! I am currently available to lavish all of my time on your pet pooch, as after a couple of years working as an RN during the pandemic I am taking a break. I treat all dogs with love and care and at the preferences of the owner. I respect dietary and exercise routines. In my home or yours, I can walk them as often as needed, prepare meals, and keep them entertained! I do not expect tips and all care of your furbabies is included in the stated rates.

“Margaret is a true animal-whisperer! As soon as she arrives, she gives my dog “morning affirmations,” which includes cuddling, belly rubs, and talking softly to her before taking her on a walk. When she returns, she cleans my cat’s litter box and gives my cat enrichment time while flicking a catnip toy in front of her. My cat greets Margaret every morning when she arrives and patiently waits for her turn to have attention! Aside from being great with my fur babies, Margaret is not afraid to handle my python so that he doesn’t miss out on his enrichment time either. She is literally the jack-of-all when it comes to animal care! She has the education to back up her animal husbandry expertise, and I can leave my home knowing that she can hold the fort down until I get back home!”

They have developed such an amazing bond that I do not hesitate to call Melanie when I have to travel for work, take an extended vacation, or even for a week or two of walks when my job gets too crazy. She is quick to respond to all of my texts, and is proactive about sending me updates. The personal touch means everything to me since I am a first-time dog owner (and thus have incredible anxiety when I leave my fur baby)!
