Heather has the biggest wonderfullest grounds for dogs to run around and smell. My Odie takes for ever to get worn out, but that goal was totally met with Heather. He looked so peaceful and content. Thank you!

About: I’ve owned a dog my entire adulthood, my miniature schnauzer that we rescued lived to be 15 & we had her 12 of those years. My current dog is a certified therapy dog that works with me. I did the training with her. I have a lot of flexibility with my work schedule & being home. If I’m at work my spouse is home. So one of us are usually home at all times. We have a friendly poodle mix & an enclosed/fenced in yard with a privacy fence. They will have free range of the house & frequent outdoor breaks for exercise. :)

Stephanie is an amazing animal care taker! She completely spoiled Kula, my Labrador Mix. Kula made herself at home and comfortable. She stayed in constant contact with video and picture updates. She asked me if Kula was allowed on couches and beds. I agreed to making that exception since we were out and just wanted her happy and not lonely. Kula totally fell in love with Stephanie (as did my 4 year old human. Thank you so very very much Stephanie! I truly recommend her for anyone's first time or any animal you need to be in good care! Will ask Stephanie again to babysit for future dog boarding!

My girl came home happy and worn out. She must have played non-stop with Raleigh's dog Gargamel, as the pictures and videos sent to me all showed. My feeling is so much better with her coming back from Raleigh's place than I have felt recently when I left her at a kennel. I'll soon be a repeat customer.

Canela loved staying with Jessica, Ted, and their kids! We received many photo updates which we greatly appreciated. It was also great that the family was able to stay with Canela most of the time, as she is used to people being around most of the day. She came home to us happy, healthy, and worn out from all her playing during what we would call a 5 star stay!

Have never felt more comfortable leaving my Gypsy with anyone. Yes, even family. She acted like it was her second home from day one due to Joni making her so welcome. Joni is truly a god sent with animals. When we picked her up she was so glad to see me then went back to playing. I can’t thank her enough and will recommend her to all my friends. Thank you Joni and will definitely see you again!

My two dogs had a wonderful stay with Michelle and Luke for 3 nights. Michelle sent several pictures and updates on how our dogs were doing throughout the stay. They have trails on their farm, which makes walks really nice for the dogs. Plus, they have kids and my dogs loves kids! Thanks again for watching and taking care of our dogs.

Dana was great! I needed a sitter at the last second and she was able to watch Colbie with no problem. She sent lots of pictures of her during her stay, and treated her just like one of her own dogs. I could tell that Colbie received lots of love and attention and was very happy. She got fresh chicken mixed with her food for dinner every night, and was even allowed to bring her favorite toy home with her. I will definitely be booking with Dana again in the future!

Katrina was GREAT! We were a little worried because we'd not gotten a chance to meet her before we got into town and we were 8 hours away from home but as soon as we met her we knew that she'd take great care of the dogs. She has two smaller dogs of her own that she kept separate from ours while we were there, but by the time we picked Hope and Lou up a few days later everyone was hanging out together. She was quick to update when I checked in on the dogs, but really, I felt comfortable enough that I only texted twice. I would absolutely leave them with her again when I'm back in the area.

About: What sets us apart is that dogs aren’t just pets in our home—they’re family. We’ve been caring for dogs together since 2013, and our animals live fully alongside us in everyday life, from couch snuggles to family adventures. Our dogs are regularly vetted, deeply loved, and yes—often spoiled. In addition to long-term pet care, we’re proud foster parents with The Road Home Animal Project and have lovingly fostered over 22 dogs (and counting), each with unique personalities and needs. This experience has made us patient, adaptable, and confident caring for dogs of all ages, energy levels, and backgrounds. Your pup won’t just be watched—they’ll be welcomed into a calm, happy home with a whole family devoted to their comfort and care. Pet care is woven into our daily life. My husband works remotely five days a week, I work part-time, and evenings and weekends are open—perfect for one-on-one attention, extra spoiling, and playtime with our dogs who love having new friends. We care for pets like family, offering fenced yard play, neighborhood walks, and crate options when needed. Our friendly, sometimes vocal dogs enjoy playmates, and pets are fully included in our home with supervision, comfy furniture, and attentive care.

Breonna was a great sitter for my dog, Hank, who can be a handful sometimes. She was willing to meet me beforehand to make sure that it was a good match, and she sent pictures and a video while I was away so that I knew Hank was doing well. Not everyone can manage a rambunctious Treeing Walker Coonhound, but Breonna did extremely well, on top of offering an affordable price. If I have to go away again, I will definitely be contacting her. Highly recommend.

FAQs for Boarding - Martins Ferry

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 58 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Martins Ferry. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Martins Ferry home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Martins Ferry.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Martins Ferry sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
