We are new to the area and needed someone to help us with Base. Qianna kindly helped us out. She was sweet with him and very thorough. Base is our sweet senior dog and needs more love than before, so specially in a new environment.

About: I've been taking care of pets, plants and homes for the last ten years. I believe in having a pet owner coming back to their pet/home in better shape than they left them. I've encountered many different personalities of pets over the years and understand each has different needs and desires. I ensure that the pet is comfortable with the environment and myself by building a relationship of trust. I'm a high school technology teacher enjoying summer break. I've decided to join Rover so I can still work during my down time this summer. I have cared for animals short & long term and have many necessary items like leashes, bowls, foods, bags and more. I have air conditioning for the hot days of summer. Walking your dog helps me live a healthy lifestyle that I enjoy.

Emily was fantastic with Ginny! Great communication from start to finish, and she went above and beyond handling an unexpected issue while we were away, didn’t even have to ask. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. Would absolutely book again!

About: I’m 24 years old, im a part time stna and part time dog sitter! Im a pet owner, I’ve grew up with pets my entire life. I grew up with cats, dogs, fish, goats. I love to care for animals/ people who can’t take care/speak for themselves😇 I currently work a part time, night shift job during the week Tuesday-Thursday. I am available on weekends at ANY TIME for boarding, house sitting or drop-in visits. And during the week I am also available any time after 9am! For any pet they need to be fed, bathed, time to play, let outside to potty and just be a nice companion to them everyday. I’m a pet owner myself so I already do the everyday chores/ needs that are needed for care. It’s been a lifelong routine of mine that I’m accustomed to.

About: Hi, I'm Ava! I have a deep love for all animals and years of experience caring for many different types of dogs and cats. As a proud pet parent to my spoiled indoor dog, Daisy, I understand exactly how important it is to know your fur babies are safe, happy, and well taken care of while you're away. My schedule is incredibly flexible, giving me plenty of open time to dedicate to your pets whenever you need an extra hand! Whether you are working a long shift, running errands, or heading out of town for vacation, I tailor my visits to match your pet's exact routine: Mid-Day Dog Walking: Is your pup bursting with energy during the workday? I'll come by to get them moving, burn off some energy, and break up their day with a fun, refreshing walk. Puppy & Kitty Drop-In Visits: From playful kittens to energetic puppies, I provide dedicated check-ins to handle feeding, fresh water, quick potty breaks, litter box scooping, and plenty of love and attention. Out-of-Town Vacation Care: Going away for the weekend or a longer trip? I can drop in multiple times a day to ensure your pets maintain their normal routine in the comfort of their own home—giving you total peace of mind while you're gone

I’m comfortable with feeding routines, cleaning, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and treat every home and pet with respect. I also provide regular updates so you always know how your pets are doing. I have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I can work around your pet’s routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. I’m available on weekends and can often accommodate last-minute requests. I care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable and secure. I also have a fenced-in yard for safe, supervised outdoor time if needed for dogs. About: I have helped care for multiple dogs of varying sizes, ages, and breeds. One of my three current dogs is a female Great Dane that I have helped raise since she was just 2 months old! Another one of my current dogs is 12 years old, pushing 13, so I have a lot of experience taking care of elderly animals. In fact, I do not think there has ever been a point in which I have not had a pet in my life! I have three days that are full of classes during the week, as well as a part time job that sends my schedule out weekly. Generally, I can pet sit on weekends, Mondays in the afternoon, and some Fridays. I have the entirety of Ohio State’s campus to explore, as well as some local public parks! While sitting in the past, I have tried to stick to one room as to not invade privacy or let the pet get out of my sight.

Vivien was awesome. I have 3 dogs. One of them is older with anxiety, a puppy and a 3 yr old. All 3 of my dogs loved her. Vivien administered medication to my senior dog. She cleaned up after the puppy and made sure my 3 yr old got plenty of attention. My dogs aren't used to being left alone. But, Vivien took care of everything. I was able to relax while I was on vacation. I would definitely request her service again. Vivien was perfect.

About: I have always owned a pet. I also worked as a zookeeper for 7 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I can care for any animal and can even provide basic training. I will also come work on your farm. I love physical work and am working towards having my own homestead. I am also comfortable administering medications. I can come out almost any day of the week to walk, spend time, do animal chores, or whatever else is needed for your pet or farm. I will likely have my son who I stay home with unless this is an issue with your pet or your personal preference. Due to having children I will not be able to stay the night but can come several times a day and in the evenings. I will come to your home to care for your pets. I will follow all written instructions. I prefer to come and do a meet and greet to become familiar with your pet and the routine you have established. I will always check first to see if I can bring my son as I am a stay-at-home mom and only don't have him two days a week. I will always be attentive with him and the animals as I do understand how to identify behavior. I spent 17 years in the zoo field both as a volunteer and as a keeper.

Abbey did an excellent job taking care of my two cats during my 9-day trip. She communicated with me every day she visited, providing updates, photos, and detailed descriptions of how each visit went, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. One thing that really stood out was her patience with my very shy calico cat. By the end of the stay, my calico had come out of her shell enough to let Abbey pet her, which is something I never expected. I highly recommend Abbey to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again in the future.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Martin stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Martin. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
