“Dottie goes to Emma’s all day, 3 days a week and just loves it! She gets so excited as soon as we pull in the driveway! Emma is responsive, helpful, kind, gentle and great with my little dog!”

“Jen & Rob took such great care of my dog for day care weekly. He always came home happy, healthy, and exhausted (thank god, he is a high energy Aussie and needed to expel that energy!). Thank you, Jen & Rob for being a safe place for me to bring my dog!”

“Jenny and her family were amazing!! They took care of my dog like he was their own. He had so much fun and didn’t want to leave. Jenny also sent me awesome pictures of all the fun he was having. Thank you so much!”

“We enjoyed meeting Jonathan! We left Scotty with him while we attended a concert. He is quick to respond to texts and we appreciated his flexibility around not knowing exactly when we could get back. We would happily use Jonathan again to care for our dogs!”

About: We have watched many pets over the years and are finally bringing our love to the masses. :) We truly love all animals (every where we have lived animals indoor/outdoor just flock to us it seems ha). We give them the care they deserve and treat every last one as if it were our own personal pet. We have also had several pets through the years that needed medical attention daily (generally giving medication) and understand the importance of maintaining medicine/medical care in a very timely manner. If you are looking for the best care for your pet, look no further this family of pet lovers is where its at. We took a little time off to focus on some other things but we are back at it and ready to love and care for your pet better than anyone on this app 😀♥️ (we might be biased). I work from home full time so I am here almost 24 hrs/day to care for your lovely pet. On the weekends we come and go for short periods of time but generally we are home 80% of the weekend at least. We welcome long and short term pet stays, we just love pets. I have kids who "LOVE" to entertain/give attention to pets and try to teach them new tricks. I have several nearby dog parks, and 1 dog of my own. I have a Black Lab/Great Dane mix about 5 yrs old. He loves having other pets around after he get his sniffs in :)

“This will be the third week in a row that my Roxxie will be attending doggy day care with her two new dog friends in Nancy’s home. It’s so amazing that I can go to work and not have to worry at all if my dogs being well cared for. Nancy is the best!”

About: I’m currently studying to be a vet assistant. Since I was a kid I’ve loved animals and have accumulated lots of knowledge over the years. I’ve been trusted to care for many family pets. I’m very calm and patient, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to care for your pets as well! I’m currently working part-time, early mornings. Mid-week, afternoons and weekends are the best times for me to care for and play with your babies! I live in a very quiet home and a very quiet neighborhood. We can sit and relax while I knit or easily walk down to the nearby observatory, park, or town square.
About: Hi! I’m Margo — a lifelong animal lover who’s been surrounded by pets for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two poodles and two labradors, and I’ve learned how to care for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I currently have a cat and even a donkey, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of animals — big, small, furry, or hooved! Friends and family have always relied on me to walk, feed, and care for their pets when they’re away. I’m responsible, patient, and love getting to know each animal’s unique personality. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, or just some extra cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel loved and cared for like my own. I’m a lifelong animal lover and part-time social worker who often works from home. My flexible schedule allows me to give pets the time, care, and attention they deserve. When caring for pets in their home, I treat the space with the same respect I would want for my own. I follow all instructions carefully, keep things tidy, and make sure pets feel safe and loved. I take time to earn their trust with gentle attention, routine, and comfort.
“Lisa and John were great! It was a very last-minute booking and they were incredibly accommodating. I felt very comfortable from the jump leaving Lola with them. They helped her get adjusted and she came home absolutely wiped! I will definitely be booking again.”

“Kayla and her partner were wonderful with our dachshund. We needed doggie daycare while attending an event. Kayla was excellent to work with and took great care of our little baby. Highly recommend.”

“My puppy enjoyed the day playing with Brandon and his friendly pets. Brandon was reliable, responsive, worked well with my puppy’s energy level, and sent me a lot of updates during the day. We will be back.”

“Lauren was amazing! HIGHLY recommend.. she checked in throughout the day with pictures and Nero was out several times throughout the day! She was accommodating to my schedule as well:)”

About: I grew up on a dairy farm and have always had cats and dogs around. My kids are excited to learn some responsibility through animal care along with my supervision and spend time with dogs. Recently retired from corporate world and children expressed interest in dog walking/boarding. Good opportunity to walk and teach children lessons in pet care while spending time bonding with dogs. We have a fully fenced backyard in addition to a bonus room that the animal would stay in while boarded. My children and I would show a lot of care and attention to your pet.
About: I’ve been around and cared for animals for over 20 years and truly enjoy being around them. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable with different personalities — from energetic pups to more anxious or senior pets. I offer walks, drop-in visits, and boarding in my home. I do have a cat, and he is used to being around dogs, but I always prioritize safety and comfort for everyone. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal like they’re part of the family. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from home and structure my schedule intentionally, so I’m able to provide consistent walks, feeding times, and attention throughout the day. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening walks or drop-ins, and when boarding, pets are rarely left alone for long periods. I value routine and make sure each pet’s normal schedule is maintained to help them feel comfortable and secure. I live in a safe, walkable neighborhood with my son (7 YO) and our cat, Toto. While our backyard is not fenced, dogs are always leashed for outdoor time and walks. We have great sidewalks and a quiet area that’s ideal for daily exercise. Inside the home, I provide a calm and supervised environment. I’m attentive to each pet’s comfort level and always prioritize safety, clear communication with owners, and following specific care instructions. I’m also happy to schedule meet-and-greets beforehand to ensure everyone feels confident.

“Akita is professional, very responsive and amazing! My fur baby felt at home immediately. He even ate his food which he never does when he’s away from home. She was so accommodating and did such a wonderful job taking him on plenty of walks and potty breaks! He was so excited for day 2 daycare. I’m so happy I found a forever sitter for my baby! Thank you Akita!”

“Ryan was wonderful with my two dachshunds. Boarded them during the day while we had workers installing new carpet. Sent pics and videos so I had no worries. They came home tired and happy. Would hire Ryan again.”

About: Early 40’s year old sitter/walker with car. You could say I have 40+ years of experience. My family had a German Shepherd from before I was born and I was very close to her. There has been a stream of pets in my family. Including so so so many cats in NYC. Even going so far as to “rescue” a half feral one. Currently, I share ownership of a dog. As a small business owner of over 10 years, I am able to have a flexible schedule and spend more time hanging out with your pet(s). That said, I have a lot of experience managing other people, and I do have high expectations for clear communication from clients. I have never had a complaint from clients that already have human children. I am very clear about the kind of care I offer. For example, I clearly state I can do 4-8 hrs for letting out. That does not mean that when I get to the sit, you tell me you expect every hour. I also do not cancel other bookings so that you can be the sole client. I have been through that, obliged, and the client was still dissatisfied. I am running a business and the new owner of this app runs on harsh algorithms that hide you in search. Let’s try to be better and more human, than conforming to private equity and their bottom line. For the fur babies, I can follow their diet and pet or play or brush their hair. As long as you give me a list or schedule, I'll do my best to provide it. I have extensive experience with pets at all stages of life. (As well as other kinds of pets which I am open to caring for.) I understand the care required for a wide variety of needs and can do my best to provide reinforcement on current training, but I am not going to be attuned right off the jump to the nuances noticed by your trainer or you... I can reinforce sit, lay down, paw, stay, heel, rollover, or anything else. I can administer medicine. I am not formally trained in pet CPR, but I am trained in human CPR and have looked at videos for pet CPR. When I was younger I worked as a lifeguard, and have a remarkable natural ability to stay calm and act fast in crisis situations. This comes in handy, for example: when protecting my maltipoo from other dogs, managing territorial behavior, or keeping one dog out of another dog’s bowl. My schedule is flexible and I have a car. I have a small business and partial responsibility of my dog, so I do need to be able to run errands, go to meetings, or check in at home to keep that part of my life running. For extended care, and distance further than 5 miles, I prefer be given the option to stay over at clients for the sake of gas costs, time, and energy. First meeting and approach are important to setting a precedent, I first see if the pet will approach me. I like to offer my hand palm down for them to smell. Sometimes it takes a few times smelling the hand before they feel comfortable letting me pet them. In my opinion it’s important not to mess up first impressions with the pet. Spending time together builds familiarity bonds, being attentive builds trust. It’s important to build rapport.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mariemont
April is an absolutely wonderful dog sitter for our puppy, Otis. She is incredibly attentive, sends videos, keeps him engaged, and makes sure he was well cared for the entire time. It’s clear how much she genuinely loves and understands dogs. Otis also has the best time with her dog, Bailey, they are so sweet together, and it made us feel even more comfortable knowing he has such a great companion while we were away. Anyone would be lucky to have April care for their pet. We’re so grateful for the love and attention she gives to Otis!

Mojo, my little Frenchie, always loves him time with Heather! We recently moved to Cincinnati and Heather is hands down our go-to whenever we are travelling. I always feel at ease when Heathers taking care of our little guy. She is great - very responsive, communicative and takes detailed instructions for any care your pet might need very well! Most of all Mojo loves her space and feels very at home! Highly recommend!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
