About: I’ve had dogs in the home since I was a small child and host small dogs (under 20 pounds) in my home. I'm new to booking through Rover, but can supply references, if requested. I’m excited to open my door (and heart) to your pup for day visits or overnights. I have one super tough 6 pound Shihtzu-Chihuahua in the house so your pups must be friendly with other dogs. I also have experience with puppies and caring for senior dogs. I work from home so I'm at home all day and night during the week. On weekends, I'm never gone for more than 3- 4 hours at any one time. Most of the time, I'm home with the fur babies. I have a house with ample room to welcome up to 2 dogs (same owner) at a time. I have a fenced back yard area allowing for exercise and free roaming. I never leave pets outdoors unattended. Dog's will normally sleep in my bed with me, but totally fine if they prefer their own bed in my room.
“I always worry about leaving Odin with anyone. But Cara was amazing! She was so patient and understanding with us and our troubles and took such amazing care of my boy! Will absolutely be using her again!!”

“Jasmine took to Molly right from the start. She sent me photos of Jasmine every day while I was gone. I loved the idea that Jasmine had a safe home away from home with Molly. She was great!!”

About: My name is Annabell, and I'm a self-proclaimed animal lover with years of pet sitting experience. I grew up surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, and I've always had a soft spot for furry friends. I’m currently working part time at the animal shelter I specialize in caring for dogs and cats, but I'm also comfortable with small mammals, reptiles, and even the occasional exotic pet. I'm always up for a challenge, and I love learning about new animals and their unique needs. One of the things that sets me apart from other pet sitters is my ability to connect with animals on a deeper level. I pride myself on being able to read an animal's body language and understand their needs, even if they can't tell me in words. I'm also experienced in administering medication, so you can rest assured that your pet is in good hands. I know that pets are more than just animals - they're family members - and I treat them with the same love and care that I would want for my own pets. When I'm not pet sitting, you can usually find me exploring the great outdoors with my own furry friend. I'm an avid hiker and nature lover, and I believe that spending time in nature is just as important for pets as it is for humans. If you're looking for a fun-loving and experienced pet sitter who truly cares about your furry friend, look no further. I can't wait to meet you and your pet! I understand trust is a big factor in finding the right sitter. I always do meet and greets beforehand to make sure you and your pet are comfortable with me. In my time of being a pet owner myself and professionally sitting I have a developed a high understanding of the care, temperament and just fun activities for the the doggos and cats to enjoy! ( and of course all your farm, exotic and aquatic friends)

About: Hi! I’m a teacher and lifelong animal lover who enjoys caring for pets of all kinds. I’m a reliable pet sitter who provides daily walks, playtime, and lots of attention so your pet stays happy and comfortable. As a teacher, I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to details—qualities that carry over into how I care for animals. I always follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they feel secure while you’re away. I also send regular photo updates and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and well cared for. I treat every pet as if they were my own, and my goal is for them to feel loved, comfortable, and stress-free until you return. As a teacher, I have a very structured and reliable daily routine. During the work week, I go home every day on my lunch break to let my own fur babies outside, check on them, and give them some attention. Because I already make time for my pets in the middle of the day, it’s easy for me to incorporate caring for other pets into my routine as well. My schedule allows me to provide care before work, during my lunch break, and again in the afternoons and evenings. This makes it easy for me to handle walks, potty breaks, feedings, and playtime throughout the day. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I’m used to making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. Since I already prioritize my own pets’ routines, adding another furry friend to my daily schedule fits very naturally for me. When caring for pets, my goal is to keep them as comfortable and relaxed as possible by following their normal routine. I always make sure pets have fresh water, are fed according to their schedule, and get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. In my client’s home, I respect the pet’s familiar environment and follow any instructions the owner provides, including feeding routines, medications if needed, walks, and preferred play activities. I also make sure pets get plenty of affection and companionship so they don’t feel lonely while their owners are away. In my own home, pets are treated like family. They receive lots of love, supervision, and a safe, calm environment. I make sure they get regular potty breaks, exercise, and comfortable places to rest. Communication is very important to me, so I send regular photo and message updates so owners can feel confident their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 16 years. I have two beautiful girls with lots of energy and personality, we roof walks! And doggy parks I currently own a business and have the flexibility with my schedule to watch or walk your pup during the weekend. I like to walk and keep the pup exercising throughout the day. I unfortunately do not have a fenced yard, but I can walk your pup many times around the yard and be sure they get the well deserved attention.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Maces Spring home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Maces Spring.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Maces Spring sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
