“Nicole did a fantastic job checking in on our two dogs. We are traveling through with an RV group and she kindly came to the campground so we could go whale watching for the afternoon. She also came out the day before for a meet and greet, which made it all so much easier!”

“Kate is a life-saver! I travel fairly often and she comes and checks on my 2 boys while I'm away. I absolutely love the pics she sends! Having that peace of mind is a huge weight off my shoulders. Thank youuuu!”

About: I have experience in taking care of dogs and cats since I was 8 years old, including animals that are not my own. I have basic dog training skills along with emergency vet medicine skills from working at a Veterinary ER. I have worked with all ages of dogs and cats in sick and in health. I also can provide basic grooming services, bathing, trims, teeth brushing, and nail trimming. I have experience and training with fractious and aggressive animals and know how handle them safely do no one gets hurt. I am currently looking for work at anytime or any day of the week while I am in Lubec this summer from July 13th-September 10th. I always approach an animal calmly and patiently allowing them to come to terms with me being in their space. I base the time I walk a dog on owners request and the animals tolerance. If the dog looks in distress after 20 minutes I’ll turn back and head home, occasionally stopping so they can catch their breath or be carried if small. If I’m just stopping in to let a dog out I make sure to have them on leash as is state law until entering a fenced area. If requested by the owner or the dog is interested I’ll play with the animal to get in exercise before they have to go inside. For both cats and dogs, I ensure that enough water is accessible and if they need to be fed they have been. For cats if requested by the owner or if it is an extended sitting or stay I will care for the litter box. As an owner of a cat myself I always check once a week to make sure there has been both fecal and urine output from an animal. This is something I can do on request for owners as well. Cats are masters of disguise when it comes to their health. I have worked hard to learn subtle ques and behaviors from cats to help identify a problem. Unfortunately I do not take requests to let a cat outside unless they have been trained on a leash. After working at a veterinary ER and a wildlife center I have decided that I am unwilling to allow a cat outside unleashed and unsupervised. Cats like dogs also require different forms of enrichment and interaction. If your cat/s are playful and social I can provide active enrichment. I also understand that for some cats strangers are not who they wish to interact with. The animals well being is my first priority and what I focus on when caring for them.

About: I'm Ashley and I am available and eager to care for your pet. I am experienced in caring for animals and love to do it, so let me know if I can help you out sometime. I only ask that if you have a very aggressive animal, please let me know. If your pet is not leash trained (particularly a large/strong dog), this needs to be shared prior to providing services so that I know how to handle our walk. Also if your pet is sick or not up to date on vaccines, this needs to be shared as well, as I have my own pets and want to protect them from any illnesses. I especially look forward to petting your dog and snuggling if they are into that kind of thing! :) I have a flexible work schedule and can work from home 50% of the work week. The other 50% I am out by 3pm. I am openly available on weekends. My pets and my clients pets are cared for as if they are family. They get lots of love and attention, frequent walks, treats (as permitted), and timely meals. I have a dog friendly yard and a puppy proof home.

Ashley M.

“I have lived with Ashley for 3 years and have known her all my life. She has a dog who she loves more than anything. I've never seen someone care for their dog as much as she does. I have also left my cat in her care with full trust. She even sends me videos and photos of him when I'm away and missing him! Ashley is very responsible, always making sure the dog goes out, takes his medication, and gets plenty of walks. She also takes him on a ton of adventures and he's a happy pup! Ashley is a huge animal lover and I would highly recommend her to look after your pet.”
