I have an older dog and she went out of her way and put mats down on the hardwood floors when his legs were tired. She kept me informed with messages and pictures the entire visit. It was an exceptional experience for the Kelso and me!”

About: I am new to this site, but have used Wag! for quite some. I have been taking care of dogs since I was a young child and since then have taken care of almost every type of domestic animal. Whether you need your dog or cat walked, sat for, or boarded I can help. There's no dog too stubborn or cat too mean. I'm comfortable with all animals. Anything can be worked out... if there are instructions I need to follow, information I need to learn, or skills I need to master to make you feel safe, leaving your loved one with me I am willing. I am perfectly comfortable administering pets medication, tending to elderly pets, or even bottle-feeding any type of fur baby. When it comes to boarding, I have two live-in very friendly doodles, I trust them implicitly but they can be easily be kept (via large centrally located gate) separate from your fur baby if necessary or you feel more comfortable that way. I have a large fenced in backyard. My property is covered in cameras, both inside and out. I also have a GPS tracked fence and can have your pup wear a gps collar while staying here if you’d like for extra security. I would also be happy to pick-up and drop-off your pet to help make your travel plans more convenient and less stressful for you. I am not a giant stickler for start and stop times. No one can plan for traffic or a delayed flight. Travel is stressful enough so there should be no need to worry about that, everything can be worked out. Feel free to book me for sitting services if you need help whelping when your dog is in labor I am very familiar and could be a great help. I’m excited to meet and spend time with your fur baby family member 😁😁😁 I work from home, so I’m available for as many pet walks as walks as necessary, pet sitting and boarding. If I board your pet they will almost never if not actually never be left alone. I live in a house in a safe friendly neighborhood. I have a large fenced in yard that is reinforced with industrial chicken wire to prevent any smaller pups from escaping. Also, any dog that is to stay at my house can (upon owner request and or approval) be fitted with a GPS tracker for their stay here so they can be monitored by me at all times, even when just in the backyard. My property is covered outside and in with cameras and I have a security system. I have every size of cage and playpen if you’d like your pet to be kennel at night or if I have to run out for a minute. I also have a large gate in the main hallway of my house, which can be used to keep your pet separate from my two friendly doodles if that makes you more comfortable.

I was gone for 10 days and as soon as I met her and her daughter I knew my dog was in safe hands. I did not get a chance to meet her son but I am sure Champ was all over him. I will definitely use her in the future.”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember! I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, goats, and just about every furry friend imaginable. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I truly believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can be stressful, which is why I strive to provide the same patience, attention, and affection I would want for my own dog. I share my home with Mabel, my energetic, friendly pup who loves making new friends! My sweet girl Mabel is energetic, playful, and enjoys the company of other dogs! However, she does appreciate a proper introduction before welcoming new friends into our home. 🐾 I encourage a meet-and-greet before boarding so Mabel and your pup can get acquainted, exchange a few sniffs, and make sure they’re both comfortable. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and peace of mind are always my top priorities! We live in the beautiful Windy Hill area of North Myrtle Beach, just four blocks from the ocean, with a yard for outdoor playtime and plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise. Whether your pup loves an active day of exploring or would rather curl up somewhere cozy for an afternoon nap, I’ll make sure their care is tailored to their personality, comfort level, and routine. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you’re away and make your pet feel like a cherished member of the family. Because to me, pets aren’t just animals — they’re family! 🐾❤️ I have a flexible schedule that allows me to make plenty of time for your furry family members! I enjoy incorporating walks, playtime, outdoor breaks, and lots of love into my daily routine. I do my best to accommodate each pet’s individual schedule so they feel comfortable, happy, and right at home! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities! I live in a pet-friendly home in the Windy Hill area, just four blocks from the beach, with a yard for supervised outdoor time. My dog Mabel is friendly and playful, but appreciates a proper meet-and-greet before welcoming new furry friends. I always follow each pet’s individual needs, routines, and house rules to make their stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible!

About: Thank you for considering me to care for your dogs. I know it’s not an easy decision. We also offer weekly Poop Scooping service - Just ask! I have always had a family dog. I have run an in home doggy day care, owned a pet treat bakery, earned my Vet Tech degree, worked in veterinary clinics, a specialty animal hospital, and as a pet nutrition consultant. I have cared for young and old, sick and healthy. I have seen everything at this point. One of my dogs had seizures so I know how difficult it can be to trust someone with a pet with medical conditions. I’m here to help. I hope to make this my full time job aside from mom. I have 2 daughters and 2 dogs. Check ins fit nicely into our busy family schedule. I’ll take time for each pet. Chatting with them, snuggles, pets, let me know what they need and I'll do my best to make sure they feel your love!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Longwood home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Longwood.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Longwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
