“Very good experience. I had never board Luna before. Or any of my dogs. Julia was great very knowledgeable, nice , and communicated with me the whole time. Luna loved Dixie as well. Thank you so much !”

“Super friendly and great with Yoolee! We have used her on 2 overnight occasions with 1 being short notice and she has always been very accommodating and responsive. We highly recommend Katie.”

“Elaine and Chip are so kind and accommodating! They were able to watch our dog Mingo on short notice, and have been wonderful to him. We will definitely be reaching out to them for our next trip!!”

“Victoria was really amazing. Our Lola can be a handful (she's a Frenchie) but she thrived for the 2+ weeks she was with Victoria! On top of that Victoria was sending pictures every few days to keep us posted. In fact it's clear that we have some work to do now that we are back as Victoria set the bar very high! :) Without hesitation, I would recommend Victoria to watch your little loved one while you are away.”

“Lola had a great time! She came back exhausted. Deanna was super responsive, sent pictures, and got our girl eating good which she doesn’t do when she’s in new places. Lola is deaf and she was totally ok with using her hand signals and things! Would definitely book again!”
“Ximena and Travis were amazing! They were so friendly and sent us picture updates. It was nice knowing our dogs were well taken care of and given the attention they deserve while we were out of town. We will definitely use them again! Highly recommend!”

“We are repeat clients of D's. We think our 3 dogs are a handful, but D acted like they were angels. The pictures she sent (we treasured -- they made us feel very relaxed while away) -- we studied the body language in each to make sure they looked happy and relaxed. They did :) My goldendoodle, who can be aloof, RAN to her when we got there and in one of the pictures she is laying on D's feet. This is reserved for people she feels comfortable with. I hope she is available every time we need to go out of town. I want her to be our regular. The dogs were allowed on the furniture at her house which they are not at home (she OK'd it with us) and so it was special for them. After our trip, she brought them to us, which was such a welcome gesture after a long trip. We heart her.”

“Brent was amazing with our dog Barry!! Our little guy is super anxious and it takes someone with a lot of patience and experience to handle him and Brent definitely was that person! Would recommend him over and over again! Best dog sitter we have come across and so glad we found him 🙏🏻🙌🏻”

“Joy and her family provided a fantastic boarding experience for Stella, offering a perfect blend of care, attention, and fun. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and loving home away from home for their pet.”

“Shavonna sent me updates including pictures throughout Boopers stay. She was really happy and running around the yard with her son when I arrived. I would reccomwnd and I will book again in the future.”

“Jordan & Marques were great with my two pups. I could tell they took great care of my fur babies, and they seemed to have really enjoyed their stay. Could not recommend more!”

“Jennifer was fantastic with my dog Cody. She sent pictures and videos daily and messages letting me know how he was doing. Cody hasn’t done well in boarding environments. On the way home from Jennifer’s he was calm and content. He also became buddies with her dog Milo. I will certainly be taking Cody back to Jennifer!”

“Morgan took great care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. She was pleasant to work with, very accommodating, and kept us well informed the entire time. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands. We will definitely be requesting her services again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Angela and her family was absolutely wonderful. She was able to care for our two babies last minute and they had an absolute blast. Angel sent pictures and videos of them playing outside and even cut their toe nails. I would 100% recommend her and rebook with her when we’re back in town.”

About: Hi I am Cindy! We have always had pets in our home. We grew up having pets and always loved it. We are now retired and can show your pets a good loving enviroment while your traveling. We have a large back yard for them to frolic in and excited to meet you. We are retired and at home to play and cuddle with your pups. Your pet is sure to get fresh air and plenty of good times, weather permitted. We have a nice big fenced in yard for them to play and a loving home to share with us. We will be happy to share fun times of the pups with you.
“Kendra was very sweet, accommodating, and professional throughout the entire process. She took excellent care of our golden doodle “Zuri” and made sure to update us with pictures and texts daily. She will definitely be our first choice for boarding from this point on! Thank you Kendra!”

About: I work from home and have one adult dog - Bandit (70lbs). He is mellow, and readily give up toys and beds to newcomers, and has had great fun with new friends, here and at his sitter's house when I travel. Your dog will enjoy a large fenced yard with lots of room to run, dig, play fetch, chase squirrels, etc. With a morning walk in the neighborhood, then naps and playtime throughout the day, I will keep your high-energy dog entertained, and provide a calm and safe environment for resting. If your dog prefers to be in a kennel, I have one available (my dog does NOT like the kennel, at all, so I only offer it as a place for your dog to nest.) I will send tons of pictures (or just a few, if you prefer) while you are away, so you can be assured that your dog is happy and relaxed. I’m sorry, but we are not accepting Pitbulls/mixes at this time. I work from home and will be here to care your pet 100% of the time they are here, to ensure they are safe and relaxed. I start each day around 7am with a walk with Bandit, and your dog is welcome to join us for a good sniffing walk to kick things off. After we get back, Bandit eats his breakfast and usually relaxes inside, especially in the summer when he prefers the A/C. Midday, he may sun himself in the backyard for a bit, but most of the time he hangs out inside. While I’m working, the dogs settle around my desk, either watching out the window or napping, and they get treats throughout the day. When the weather is cooler, we spend time on the screened‑in porch enjoying the breeze and watching the birds and squirrels. Evenings are quiet and relaxed, and end with a nightly dental bone at bedtime, which is typically around 9pm.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lockhart home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lockhart.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Lockhart sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
