“This is the best place to leave your pet! Karen is so knowledgeable and it is clear she cares about all of the dogs. Thank you for taking such good care of our puppy. We will definitely look to Karen again the next time we are going out of town.”

“Milo appeared to have a wonderful time with Sarah and Todd. I have no reservation to leave him with them again. The proximity to their home and mine is also a positive factor. They were so positive in showing pictures of him to me. They also made comments about his behavior which I appreciated and gave me much comfort. I had no worries about his care. He enjoyed playing with the other dogs that they boarded and experienced his first cat! All went very well with his first home boarding adventure with this family.”

“It was comforting to know that Pepper was in a comfortable space, room to run outside, with plenty of people and pup friends to keep him occupied while we were on vacation! Kyle and Lyndzie sent lots of updates throughout the week too! Gave us peace of mind and we would definitely book with them again!”

“This family is really interested in making you and your fur baby completely happy and at ease! Sarah is teaching her boys responsibilities and the boys are all to happy to be of service and are very proactive as a family in this adventure! I LOVE this family and am so happy to have the blessing of meeting them to care for my dog!”

“Pam and her family were great sitters. My dog loved staying at their place and spending time with her family. I would 100% recommend Pam to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“Kari took such good care of my dog Rudy when I was on vacation for a week. She sent daily updates and photos, and Rudy was very happy and content in her home allowing me to be able to fully focus on my family reunion and have peace of mind about leaving Rudy. Thanks Kari and Jeremy!!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing with Ark! He is a young, high-energy puppy who can definitely be a handful, but she took such great care of him and kept me updated throughout his stay. It was clear that she was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about his well-being. Ark came home happy, healthy, and tired—which is not an easy accomplishment! I also really appreciated how welcoming she was and how comfortable she made the whole experience. I would trust her with Ark again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you so much for everything, Ashley!”

“I would HIGHLY recommend Vernita. She goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is well cared for and is having a fun and enriching time while you’re away. She sent me so many cute photo and video updates of my dog throughout his stay, helping to put my mind at ease. I will absolutely book Vernita again for pet sitting in the future!”

About: I have had animals from the time I was a toddler. I have cared for small and large dogs, cats, lizards, rabbits, fish, gerbils, and various farm animals. I will love and care for your animals like my own! I have plenty of availability to care for your animals, just call me or send me a message and I can get to you asap! I will respect your home and make sure the animals are cared for as well as I care for my own! If you need me to clean up anything, I can do that as well. A clean environment always helps me have a fresh mindset!
“Tara was great! We needed a last minute dog sitter for our 2 yorkies. We were nervous because we have never used rover before. Tara responded quickly and was even able to groom them. That saved us so much time! They had a great time! We will be using Tara again!”

About: I have experience with all kinds of pets. From reptiles, felines, and mixed breed pups, to Pit Bulls and German Shepherds. I love them all 🫶🏾 I work from home for a minimal contact tech company. After my little ones leave for school at 8:30 AM, my schedule is completely flexible. We miss having fur babies around and will treat them as part of our family. I have mild mannered boys 8 and 6 that love nature and animals.
“Shannon picked up and dropped off Buddy (as I cannot drive). She sent a few notes letting me know he was adjusting and eating well. She assured me he was "a Good Boy" while he was on vacation!”

About: I have experience fostering dogs with the animal shelter APL and have a small toy poodle of my own. He is very friendly with other dogs and loves to play. I love dogs and would love to have the opportunity to watch dogs and take care of others! I am open to watching dogs for a couple hours, a day, or even a couple of days if that is what is needed. My house has a small backyard and I am also available to do drop ins at the dogs own home. The area is very quiet and would be comfortable for another dog to be in. If I am caring for someone else's dog I plan on being home for the time I'm watching the dog so that it will be well taken care of. I’m currently only working part time so I have plenty of time to spend with your animals. I am available early mornings or early afternoons to give your animal a break during the workday! I am also available any time on the weekends. I have a fenced in yard and 2 friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I have a toy poodle and a golden retriever. I can also do drops in to walk or play with your dog as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
