We loved working with Erin! She was very accommodating on a semi-last minute in-home sitting stay. She provided great updates and pictures. She took great care of our active Australian Shepherd and home. We would gladly work with her again!

Jacob did a good job with our boys and they definitely didn't make it easy on him. I was impressed with his patience in dealing with our excitable puppies. I will definitely book him again. ?

Melissa was wonderful! She took great care of our little dog in our home. We met her the day before and felt so comfortable leaving her with our spoiled pup. She's very friendly and our little boy really seemed to love her. She sent pictures so we could see he was doing great. Thank you Melissa. We'll be calling on you again. ?❤

About: I’ve cared for all kinds of animals over the years. Growing up I always had dogs and cats, and rats when I was older. I have pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors for extended periods of time. Additionally, I have worked as a kennel attendant at a boarding kennel. There, I got to take care of all kinds of dogs and cats, and have plenty of experience with giving medication and caring for any specific needs. I just graduated college and am working part time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your animals. I have flexible availability, and work with your specific needs. Since I live in an apartment, I cannot bring any pets home. However, I can stop by multiple times a day for potting, feeding, and playing, or I can stay there if your dog needs more company. I will be moving to Cleveland in a month, but I would love to pet sit here while I’m still in the area!

Desiree watched our two pups over the weekend at our house and we could not be happier. She was our first experience using Rover and she has set the bar high! Our meet and greet helped to calm my husband and I’s nerves. She is on top of communication with quick responses. Our dogs were loved and we could tell they had a great time with Desiree. Hoping we can have her watch them again in the near future.

Abbie was wonderful! She sent consistent text updates with photos. She was communicative about any questions or concerns. And she clearly enjoyed spending time with Ollie rather than making him seem like an obligation. Highly recommend!

About: I have owned 4 cats and 2 dogs in my lifetime, as well as a ball python! In the past I had been a sitter for one of my friends which involved taking care of three dogs at once, two of which required medications. I'm good at following instructions and staying consistent. I always leave a home looking the same or better than when I arrived. My cat Finn is one of my daily top priorities. I currently also take care of my parents' dog which includes walks and nightly medications. In both cases I make sure my pets and clients' pets get adequate personal attention and that their needs are met daily. I try to go above and beyond to make sure they have fresh food and water at all times, that they are comfortable and have cleanly environments to thrive.

About: What makes me different from other pet sitters is that caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm and have had the opportunity to care for and love many different types of animals throughout my life. Because of that, I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, needs, and quirks. When your pets are in my care, I treat them as if they were my own. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pets are safe, comfortable, loved, and receiving the attention they deserve while you’re away. I take the time to get to know each pet individually and make sure their normal routines are maintained as much as possible. For me, pet sitting isn’t simply a job—it’s something I genuinely love. Your pets aren’t “just pets” to me; they’re family. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away and give your animals plenty of patience, attention, affection, and care while you’re gone. 🐾❤️ One of the things that makes my pet-sitting services a little different is that I’m able to care for pets while continuing my everyday work cleaning cabins. The cabins I work at are pet-friendly, which means your fur babies are welcome to tag along with me! This allows me to provide care throughout my normal day while also making sure your pets have companionship, attention, and a safe environment. Rather than being left alone for long periods of time, they can stay by my side while I work and enjoy being part of my day. Of course, I understand that every pet is different. I’ll always take their personality, comfort level, routine, and needs into consideration. Some pets may happily follow me around, while others may prefer to relax in their own space. I’m happy to accommodate what makes them feel safest and most comfortable. I love that my work allows me to combine two things I genuinely enjoy—caring for animals and creating a clean, welcoming environment. Your pets become part of my day, and I treat them with the same patience, love, and care that I would give my own. ❤️🐶🐱 I’m a dependable, compassionate animal lover who understands that pets are family. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free environment where your pets feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I pay close attention to routines, dietary needs, medications, and any special instructions you provide to ensure they receive the same level of care they’re used to at home. I also keep a clean, secure environment and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. Building trust with both pets and their owners is incredibly important to me. I believe in open communication, reliability, and treating every animal with patience, kindness, and respect. I’ll provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring hands. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’ll make sure they receive personalized attention and plenty of love. I look forward to creating a positive experience where both you and your pet feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.

About: I have hands-on experience with high-energy breeds like Australian Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes, so I’m comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and activity levels. I provide structured, attentive care using patience and positive reinforcement to keep pets happy and safe. I intentionally plan my daily and weekly schedule around pet care, making time for walks, feedings, and play. Staying active is already part of my routine, so caring for pets fits naturally and allows me to give them consistent, reliable attention. I adjust my care depending on the service—whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or in-home care. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding, exercise, and any special needs, and I prioritize safety at all times. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and energy levels and always aim to provide consistent, attentive care that mirrors what they’re used to at home.

About: I've taken an active part in raising and caring for many different breeds and species of animals since I was young, both for my personal household and others. I have handled, fed, bathed, and trimmed the nails of young puppies up to 8 weeks old and helped to bottle nurse and raise kittens. I have cats in my household that I regularly take care of and experience handling, loving, and taking care of older dogs as well. I currently have a job, but I am available for house-sitting at the moment. I also have some flexibility in my schedule when given enough notice. I am very vigilant and eager to care for and play with any fur-babies, so I can keep a constant eye on them inside and outside of the house. I will also stay near them while they are out to make sure that no harm comes to them.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Little Hocking walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Little Hocking maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Little Hocking choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
