“Christin came through for us again for another last minute request- this time for weekend drop-ins. Her service was stellar- again, no problem giving pills to Neo, and completely understanding of our special requests and needs. Her care was a great comfort- we can’t recommend her enough!”

“Charlotte was a perfect choice for home visits for our cat. She established a good relationship with my (often moody) cat beforehand and sent frequent updates and pictures. I could really feel better as I travelled because I knew my cat was taken care of. 1000% recommend and I will definitely book with Charlotte again.”

“Zach did an excellent job checking in on and taking care of my two cats. He was very considerate, and even managed to interact with (from a distance) my very shy baby. Would definitely book with him again.”

“Wonderful experience! She was great to work with—always prompt with communication and reliable. It gave me peace of mind knowing my cats were in such good hands while I was away.”

“Thank you for taking such a good care of our mischievous dog!! Certainly will reach out again in the near future, and for anyone looking for a great dog sitter in the area, look no further, Taylor is awesome.”

About: I have walked and dog-sat for 7 years now with great reviews. Taken care of small 15 pound dogs to 80 pound dogs. Able to care with full attention and provide the best support. Flexible schedule, with willingness to negotiate certain times. Own 1 dog of my own, and have always had a dog in the house. I do not have any prejudice against specific dog breeds. Friendly personality, easy-going, and willing to match any dogs energy levels. Any restrictions, such as food or physical, are able to be accommodated and discussed. Possibility of last-minute scheduling, but be mindful of possible conflicts. I would need to know if the dog has any history of violence or biting, as that is a key factor for me to plan. I am a freelancer and have no major commitments that require my attention so I am able to fit pet sitting into my schedule very easily. I am able to do walks short or long, play dates, travel, medications, crating, dietary challenges, and most requirements that would come up for a pets needs.
“Sherry was amazing! We decided to go on a last minute trip and she met with us the night before we left. She was so nice and a joy to be around so we knew Charlie would love her! This was our first time leaving him but we were reassured by her personality. She did everything we wanted and more. We can't thank her enough and we highly recommend her! We will definitely use her services in the future!”

“Megan was great! If she's available you should book her! She sat my Beagle, Billy, while I've been out of town. Billy had a herniated disc injury and needs special care when he goes for potty breaks or walks. Thank you Megan for caring for my lil guy!”

“I used Rover for the first time and chose Jordan because of experience based on her photos with bigger dogs. She booked a last minute with a 3 day commitment requiring 2 drop in visits per day. She communicated with me quick and well, sent photos etc. I was unsure about using Rover and thought I might need to call or text, but now fully confident in the service. I would book with Jordan again in the future and probably won't go back to boarding. Our dog seemed happy to stay at home, and not stress being away from us and at a kennel.”
About: I have had dogs all my life and have always had the responsibilities to look after them. I have been around bigger dogs as well as smaller dogs and very familiar with senior care. I work full time but with a flexible schedule and a husband who works odd hours so I can be very flexible with times and dates! I am willing to travel within reasonable distance to look after your animals with reasonable notice. I do understand last minute things can happen as well.
“Sunanda will be my go-to gal in the future to take care of our 2 dogs. They loved her right away. Her communication is clear and kind. She's flexible and professional. Thank you Sunanda! We appreciate you! Luna + Zoie and Parents!”
“Madison was great!! She helped me feel more at ease with leaving my two cats for a full week. She cared for then exactly as needed and was very communicative, providing updates and photos every day. Would definitely rebook in the future!!”

About: Dogs and cats love me. And I love them. I recently relocated from the West coast to East. have volunteered at Laguna Beach Animal Shelter in California the past nine years. There are many pets in my household ( one dog, 4 cats)). I thoroughly enjoy pet/home sitting and am grateful for your trust. I am flexible and can easily adjust my schedule accordingly. Overnights are my specialty. I have no pets or children of my own thereby emplyment is my only commitment. My household has pets and roommates travel extensively so I feed, love and whatever other pet needs arise. I am and happy to accommodate as it takes a village with pets!

“We had an amazing experience with Darian! She did a phenomenal job caring for our dogs while we were out of town. We felt reassured from the moment we left knowing they were in good hands. She went above and beyond—keeping us updated with photos and messages, ensuring they stuck to their routines, and showing them so much love and attention. It was clear she genuinely cared for our pups, and we returned to find them happy and well cared for. We couldn't have asked for better care, and we will absolutely book her again in the future! Highly recommend! 🐾”

“Courtney is great! She’s so friendly and caring. I knew our babies were in good hands. She treats them like family and is very loving and nurturing. We loved the notes, pictures, and video she sent us of her visits! She even watered our potted plants outside! We will definitely contact her again when we go out of town. Thanks Courtney!”

“Kimberly was great! Her communication throughout the week was very clear and she was able to adjust her schedule when I asked. Dani was well taken care of and I would pick her to cat sit for me again!”

“Ashley took excellent care of my cat Tala while I was away (even when Tala was not at her nicest!). Ashley made sure she understood my instructions at our meet and greet, and sent photos and updates for every drop-in visit. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Linden. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
