“I would 100% recommend erin! She is absolutely the best with our baby boy thor. Our dog could be a handful at times but he is the sweetest. You could just tell that they bonded for just even a few days we left him. I would not hesitate to leave him with her cause I know she will take good care of our boy! ?”

About: I’ve had a dog of my own since 2018, Ciri and I started when she could fit in my hand. Since then, I’ve added two more dogs to the home and it’s come in all types. I’ve dealt with them deathly sick, scared, nervous, hyper, and sleepy. I work full time at SIUC, but my friend and roommate is a retired Army veteran who spends most of his time at home. Unless something very unexpected happens, the dogs are not left alone for more than 4 hours. My house has two separately fenced in yards and I have three friendly dogs of my own and my roommate has one cat. We’re laidback and at constant war with husky hair, but we get by with optional crating and indoor and outdoor time whenever your pup needs it.

“Amy and Aaron were absolutely wonderful! This was our first time ever using a pet sitter, so I was pretty anxious about leaving Koda with someone new, but they made the entire experience so easy and immediately helped put my mind at ease. They stayed in touch throughout his stay, sent me pictures, and kept me updated on how he was doing, which meant so much to me. They truly treated Koda like he was one of their own and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. They were also incredibly flexible with our drop off and pick up times, which we really appreciated. On top of being amazing with Koda, Amy and Aaron are genuinely kind and welcoming people. I'm a very shy person and can sometimes feel awkward talking to people I don't know, but they were so friendly and easy to talk to that I felt comfortable with them right away. Communication with them was effortless from beginning to end. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience with a pet sitter. I highly recommend Amy and Aaron and would absolutely trust them with Koda again!”

About: Reliable and Loving Dog Sitting Experience As a passionate animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, I take pride in providing safe, loving, and reliable care for your furry companions while you're away. My goal is to offer peace of mind to pet owners by creating a comfortable, fun, and stress-free environment for dogs, whether it's just for a few hours or an extended stay. I’ve cared for dogs of almost all breeds and sizes, from energetic puppies to senior dogs needing special care. Every dog is unique, and I’m committed to understanding their specific needs, routines, and personalities to ensure they feel at home in my care. I believe in giving each dog personalized attention, ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. One of my most memorable experiences as a dog sitter was caring for a lively Golden Retriever named Max. Max loved his daily walks, playtime in the yard, and cuddling on the couch after a long day. I made sure to stick to his usual routine so he felt safe and comfortable. Whether it was ensuring he got his favorite treats or providing interactive toys to keep him engaged, I always put his happiness first. Max's owners were thrilled to see how happy and relaxed he was when they returned! Beyond just walking and feeding, I offer additional services such as administering medications if needed, sending regular updates, and providing plenty of playtime and snuggles. I am also fully prepared to handle any unexpected situations with a calm and responsible approach. If you're looking for a loving, trustworthy, and experienced dog sitter who will treat your pet like family, I would love to connect and discuss how I can help give your dog the best care possible while you're away! Flexible and Open Dog Sitting Schedule I understand that every pet and owner have unique schedules, so I’m proud to offer an open and flexible availability for dog sitting. Whether you need care for a few hours, a whole day, or overnight stays, I can adjust to fit your needs. General Availability: Weekdays: Open availability from early morning to late evening. I can adjust hours to match your schedule, whether you need morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening care. Weekends: I’m available all day, including overnights, so your pet will receive the same level of attention and care during the weekend as during the week. Holidays: I offer care over holidays as well! Please feel free to reach out to discuss your needs for special dates. Last-Minute Requests: I understand that sometimes plans change last-minute, so I do my best to accommodate even short notice bookings based on availability. Custom Schedules: If your pet has a specific routine or requires multiple visits or longer stays, I’m happy to tailor the care to fit. Just let me know what works best for you and your pet, and I’ll make sure everything is arranged to suit their needs. Overnight Stays: If you're going away for a longer period, I offer overnight care where your pet can stay in a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment. When it comes to caring for your beloved pet, I prioritize safety, trust, and providing a comfortable, secure environment at all times. I know how important your dog’s well-being is, and I take great care to ensure they feel loved and protected while you’re away. Safety First: The safety of your dog is always my top priority. I ensure that all pets are kept in a secure and safe environment, whether it’s during walks, playtime, or while staying in my home. I take extra precautions such as: Leash walks in safe, pet-friendly areas to prevent accidents or escapes. Safe and clean living areas, free of hazards that could harm your pet. Always supervising pets during outdoor activities to make sure they stay safe and healthy. Trust You Can Rely On: I understand that leaving your pet with someone else can be a big decision. I work hard to build trust with both you and your dog by: Sticking to your dog's routine, including feeding times, exercise, and any special instructions. Providing regular updates via text or photos, so you can see how your dog is doing and feel connected while you're away. Being transparent and responsive to any concerns or special requests you may have during the sitting period. Comfortable and Loving Environment: Creating a calm and familiar environment for your dog is essential to their happiness. In my care, they’ll feel right at home because: I offer a cozy and pet-friendly space with plenty of room for them to relax and play. I ensure lots of one-on-one attention to keep them engaged, happy, and comfortable. For pets with special needs or preferences, I can accommodate specific requirements to make sure they feel as comfortable as possible. Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lick Creek home-away-from-home, packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lick Creek.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Lick Creek sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
