“Lauren was extremely communicative and was willing to discuss times / schedules that worked best with us! She is very sweet and we will be booking her again when we need a sitter!”

“Gianna was a wonderful sitter for my babies! She paid attention to detail and left everything neat and tidy. Very easy to get ahold of and a great communicator. When I got back, all my pets were happy and calm which says a lot about how they were taken care of while I away. Highly recommend!”

“From start to finish Mariah is a great communicator, keeping us posted on our dogs. Despite our bigger dog being not friendly in the beginning he eventually caved and enjoyed his sitter. Definitely rehiring her again soon.”

About: I've taken care of my dog for a year and a half, will feed her, give pets to her and her children and make sure that they are loved and cared for and will take on walks and everything. I'm available anytime you need for now, as nothing is really stopping me but once I do start working at the humane society, my hours will vary. I would take them on walks, feed them and make sure they are tended. Feed them, give them water, change their litter, make sure they are perfectly loved and played with.
“We hired Mary to care for our two dogs while we were away for three days. We did a meet and greet and our dogs really loved the attention Mary gave them. While we were gone, Mary updated us with pictures and even brought in our Amazon packages. When we came back Mary left the house spotless. Our dogs must of had a good time because they keep going back to our guest room to look for her.”

“Afton is fantastic! she was very professional and and sent many updates of our 3 elderly furballs while we were away. The dogs love here and we will definitely be booking with her next time we are traveling without them. Highly recommended.”
About: I’ll love your pets as deeply as I love my own🐶💕 •Lifelong dog owner, with experience as a dog trainer, farrier, wrangler, pet sitter, foster, & caregiver. Worked in dog boarding facilities & with private pet owners, while volunteering at shelters, rescues, ranches, and stables. • Home 24/7 – Your pet will always be in my care and never left wondering where I am. • Single story home with a secure yard for safe play and relaxation. • Two friendly dogs of my own who love making new friends & can provide great companionship if your pup enjoys socializing. (can be definitely separated, if needed) • Experienced with animals of all sizes, ages, personalities, puppies, seniors, and those with special needs. My animals have always come first.. they eat before I do, every single time. Their happiness, safety, and comfort are my top priorities. Working with animals has taught me patience, situational awareness, & how to understand the quiet, nonverbal ways they communicate. I believe every pet deserves to feel loved, safe, and understood while their family is away. I would be honored to earn your trust, care for your furry family member like my own, and hopefully become their new best friend. This is more than just a “hustle” to me, it’s my passion. 🥰 -I work from home, and have a very flexible schedule to attend to your dog's needs. - My home is completely fenced in - safe for your dog to roam and run around supervised. -Can easily crate or separate the dogs if needed. - Neighborhood is safe and dog-friendly - No kids or cats in my home - Have my A/C on constantly (necessary with the summer heat!) - Usually only book 1 client at a time to ensure I give your dog the best attention. I have a fully fenced yard, and two very friendly dogs. If needed, my pups definitely can be separated, or crated. In my client's home, I follow every rule and expectation they imply. I take extra precautions being in the client's home, as I dont want anything to happen to any of their stuff or their furbaby.

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life. I’ve worked at two animal shelters, socializing dogs, playing with them, feeding them on time, bathing them. I’ve owned four dogs, two of them recently passed and lived up to ages 16 and 12. I’ve lived with my cousin and her 4 large dogs with specific feeding needs and her 4 cats. The last shelter I worked at mostly had cats and kittens, some with special needs that I cared for. I’m not currently employed and have plenty of time in my schedule to give to an animal. I do not live alone, but still need to be home to help with my two. Nonetheless, I have lots of time on my hands right now. Any specific requirements they need, I will fulfill to my best abilities. Dogs and cats are weird creatures with weird specific needs sometimes. They have their ow personalities and likes and dislikes, so I understand. I can let them out for potty breaks, play with, and feed them. As long as there is a small list of instructions.
“Erica was awesome, she was very responsive and incredibly accommodating. Our animals immediately took a liking to her and we were very comfortable leaving them in her care for the weekend.”

“Thank this lady for taking good care of my fur babies. I didnt even have to think about anything. She took care of it all and sent me Pictures and updates. Great job”

About: I have grown up with dogs for most of my life, I have helped raised 5 dogs in my family's home. I have learned to raise dogs since they were born. I've learned how to train them when I used to go to doggy training at petco. How to keep them active, how to play with them, relax with them, bathe them. I know such a good amount of knowledge and it still surprises me when I learn something new. I love and adore dogs. I am currently active duty, so my schedule usually ends with work off after 3 or 3:30pm. I am available weekends for whatever your animal needs. During the day when im at work my wife is a stay at home. So when I cant be their during my work hours shes my second pair of hands to help care and love your animal too. When I usually see my family and help care for the family pets, I love taking them to a park or a nice hike/walk. I think it's super important for dogs to be as active as possible (well at least untill they used up all their energy for the day) to make sure they get their bones and muscles moving to keep them healthy. Then a nice warm bath to make sure they stay clean and fresh. I usually like to spend at least a hour with redoing the tricks they have been taught. So it stays fresh in their memory and to make sure they aren't getting rusty on doing the trick. Then usually it's the end of the day, the dog had exceeded the energy for the day and it is now ready to relax. Anything you need help with for your animal can be taken care of. For my feline friends I have 2 cats of my own which are so gentle and loving towards other animals. I have never had a problem with them meeting a new animal. I live in a 2 story house so alot of room for your animal to walk around and feel safe

I work from home most of the week, which allows me to give constant attention and care to your pets. I have plenty of time to play, walk, and make sure every dog feels safe and happy. I’m available for boarding during the week and weekends, with flexible hours for drop-off and pick-up. My home is a safe and loving environment with a fenced yard for outdoor play. Pets are always supervised, and I keep the space clean and comfortable. I can provide crate time if needed and ensure every dog gets the right balance of fun, rest, and affection. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lenwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lenwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lenwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
