“Ryane was very communicative. He notified me as to his arrival and departure. He was excellent with my pup and left everything clean and neat. I plan to use him in the future and highly recommend.”

“Celine was great! She stayed with our pups all day, sent pictures and kept us in the loop. We’re very appreciative of her, and our pups loved her company all day. Looking forward to their next time with her!”

“Always a great stay for our Trio. This time we were completely out of touch at a location with no cell or WIFI and left backup numbers for just in case and when we were late in getting home she contacted our backups to make sure we were going to get back or was there an issue really above and beyond.”

About: Hey, I'm Kelly! I've dog-sat for friends over the years for various lengths of time, getting to know many different breeds and their unique personalities. I genuinely love dogs and focus not just on their basic needs, but also on engaging with them and providing a fun environment. If you're looking for a reliable, experienced, and fun-loving dog sitter, I'm your person. Can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! I work from home, which means plenty of time to hang with dogs. Whether it's walk time, feed time, or just chill time, I've got it covered. Love having a furry friend around to make the workday better. I've got a great setup at home for dogs – a fenced backyard for them to run around in and tons of toys for playtime. Your dog will have the freedom to explore and play in a secure environment, and I'll always be there to keep an eye on them. So, while you're away, they'll be having their own little fun-filled vacation at my place.

About: I'm a repeat dog sitter and have experience with unexpectedly taking a dog to the vet, after-surgery care, cleaning wounds, breaking up fights, multiple dog homes, getting difficult dogs to take pills, and training. I also do pet portraits! I work from home as an illustrator so I have plenty of time to take care of your animals! I'm available all weekends and weekdays! I take care of pets in their own home. I can take animals on walks, play fetch, crate them; whatever would make them most comfortable! I can stay for as long as you'd like or only check in a few times a day.
“Eileen was fantastic! She was very attentive to our boys and kept in close contact with us the entire weekend. She also sent lots of photos. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”
“Thanks for all the little extras-such as taking the recycling down & yard waste to curb for Friday pick up. Dogs are so well looked after; we appreciate you & the gentle approach”

“We did a meet and greet prior to leaving our girls. They loved Morgan immediately. When Morgan arrived today, the girls greeted her tails wagging '. We came home to two very happy pups. Thanks Morgan.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats since early childhood. Love walking and caring for my dogs and my neighbors since my early teens. Currently, my fur baby is a 7 year old terrier mix who is the joy of my life. I’m currently seeking pet sitting opportunities in NEPA to be closer to family. My wife and I work from home so we are able to be available anytime of the day and provide frequent walks and care. We routinely walk our own dog a minimum of 4 times per day. I understand the desire to have your fur babies comfortable in your own home. I’ll continue their normal daily routines and make sure they get lots of pets and play time with their favorite toy.

“Noelle is great and goes above and beyond. She stayed with my two dogs for multiple nights which is not easy. My dogs are lovable but they are rescues who were abused so they have behavioral issues. Noelle wasn’t worried and came to spend time with them ahead of our travel to ensure she understood their challenges and learned how to handle them. One of my dogs is people selective but loved Noelle from the start. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her. She even worked on some training techniques with them during her stay. She is a true animal lover and it’s evident in her care towards all animals, treating them as her own. I highly recommend her!”

“Matt took phenomenal care of our two pups while we were away. He was extremely communicative and got them both tons of exercise and play. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone looking for the best care for their pets!!”

About: As a proud dog mom of two, I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pets. I treat every dog like family—with patience, love, and attention to their unique needs. Both of my dogs take daily medications, so I'm very comfortable giving pills, liquids, or supplements and making sure each dose is given on time. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including energetic puppies and sweet seniors who need a little extra TLC. Whether it’s playtime, walks, meds, or just snuggles, I provide dependable, compassionate care that gives both you and your dog peace of mind. I work full time from home, so I’m able to provide consistent care, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods, and I can easily stick to their usual routine. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor play and potty breaks. Inside, I can crate if needed or separate dogs using our finished basement to give everyone their own space. I closely supervise all interactions and always follow your pet’s routine and preferences to ensure they feel safe and at ease.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and the genuine love and patience I bring to every pet I care for. I have been around animals my entire life, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, needs, and routine. I also have experience caring for senior dogs. My own dog has since passed away, but I helped care for him throughout his later years, which taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and providing extra comfort and support. Because of this experience, I am comfortable giving medications, helping pets stick to their routines, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and affection. Whether that means going on walks, playing fetch, providing activities, sticking to feeding schedules, or simply spending quality time cuddling and keeping them company, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure both pets and their owners feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. Since I am currently a college student and school is out, I have a lot of free time and a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of attention to the pets in my care. I also work as a babysitter, but Rover is my top priority job. I make sure to schedule my time carefully so that every pet receives the care, attention, exercise, and companionship they need. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after them, or simply spending quality time together, I am committed to providing reliable and attentive care. Because of my flexible availability, I can easily accommodate different routines and help pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I currently have three cats who, despite not paying rent, are very well taken care of! Caring for them is a big part of my daily routine. I make sure they receive their daily feedings, fresh water, interactive playtime, plenty of attention, and daily litter box cleanings to keep their environment clean and comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible so their pets feel safe and comfortable. This includes feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, administering medications if needed, and providing lots of love and companionship. I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities, so I take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel cared for while their owners are away. My goal is always to provide dependable care, maintain a clean environment, and treat every pet as if they were my own.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - La Plume
As much as it pains us to leave this review, we have no choice. Selfishly we want to keep Kimberly and her family to ourselves but that would not be fair. Our dog, Wasco, stayed with Kimberly's family for nearly two weeks while we were on vacation. To say he was spoiled, is an understatement. Daily walks, doggy art projects, homemade treats and beyond. We had no idea that our little man was such a great pen pal too. Along with daily videos and pictures we got a nightly letter. For the first time in a year and a half, we finally got to enjoy a vacation without the stress of wondering if our baby was okay. The only downside was, now Wasco wants to live with them. Wasco definitely fell in love with their dog, Lilly. He wasn't the only one because she is the cutest and sweetest little girl ever. I also have to give a shout out to Hailey and Joe because they spoiled the heck out of Wasco as well. The whole family was the biggest blessing we could have ever had. We consider them Wascos second family now. Thank you Kimberly, Hailey & Joe.

FAQs for House Sitting - La Plume
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 186 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across La Plume. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred La Plume walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in La Plume maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in La Plume choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Plume. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
