“Tina was fantastic! She sent me text messages, pictures, and videos of my Boston Terrier, Lee Lee. Tina took Lee Lee to the local dog park for exercise and cuddled with her in the evenings. I don't think my dog missed me at all. I will definitely use Tina in the future.”

“Linda was great with our dog! She was very responsive and sent pictures. We could tell he had a blast with her dogs, as he napped the entire evening when we brought him home.”

“Absolutely amazing! Loved Christianna! She kept me updated throughout the day with texts, pictures, and videos. She went above and beyond to ensure my pup was well cared for and happy. I trust her implicitly and will use her again the next time I leave town.”

“We love Melissa! Been repeat boarders with her, and my dog gets excited when we turn down her street. She has been great with my works trips and sometimes last minute scheduling changes.”

“Denise was great with my dog. She constantly sent me pictures of my puppy, and he always seemed happy. Would definitely recommend her and use her services in the future.”

“Rose took great care of our dog. We received updates throughout the weekend, and he seemed very happy and relaxed when we came to pick him up. Our pup is good with other dogs, so it was great that he had some good play time with them as well. I would definitely book with her again!”

“She was absolutely wonderful! She was very kind, communicative, and clearly cared a lot about my puppy. She kept me updated throughout the stay and sent lots of pictures, which really helped put my mind at ease while I was away. It made such a difference knowing my puppy was in good hands. I would definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter. 🐾”

“Christine was great. Our Molly loved hanging with her. The dog park right across the street was very nice too! I’ll definitely hire Christine again that next time we need dog care.”

“Emily was GREAT! As soon as we met her for a meet & greet prior to her dog sitting we knew she was perfect for our dog Pablo! Emily made me feel at ease by sending updates on Pablo and providing us pictures of Pablo as well. Definitely will rebook with her again!”

“When I picked up Jackson, I was not sure he wanted to leave his vacation with Kathryn and her wonderful family! Sure he was excited to see us, but, then he laid down next to Kathryn as if he was feeling pretty comfortable at her home! She sent photos and write ups daily and this made me feel so much better about leaving him in her care. It was like he knew the family forever! This was the first time we went away without him in 8 years so I was a bit anxious about leaving. I would have no problems leaving him again if I have another opportunity to do so. I highly recommend Kathryn and I know he was very happy being there and well cared for. He enjoyed his daily walks and never missed a meal and perhaps, Me!!!! If there were 10 stars I would click everyone of them!”

“Alicia and Randy are wonderful pet hosts!!! The care, attention, professionalism, follow up, and the love they have for their furry clients are just a few examples of superior work. You can instantly tell that they have a genuine love for animals, my Lola was treated with love and great care. I recommend Alicia to anyone that is looking for a safe and loving place for their pets stay. Thank you a million times Alicia, Randy, and their pets Cruz and Azalea for opening your house for Lola.”

“Genil is the sweetest! Thank you so much for taking care of mu puppy with my super last minute request (literally within 2 hrs). You can tell she really cares about the animals she cares for. She took care of my baby and sent pics. He came home good and tired. Lol. Would definitely recommend.”

“We are so thankful to have found Kimberly - she lovingly took care of our 2 dogs while we were out of town. One of our pups is almost 16 years old with mobility issues and lots of oral medications, but Kimberly took excellent care of her and all her needs. She updated us with photos multiple times each day, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you so much Kimberly - we would give you 10 stars if we could!”

About: I’ve been around dogs most of my life. I currently have a Blue Great Dane named Diesel. He is great with other dogs, and we will have to do a meet and great to make sure you’re pup will get along with him also. I’m usually available unless the wife has me doing something. I spend every min I can with my dog and will show your dog the same treatment. My yard is unfenced for now, but it is 2 acres that’s at the end of a quiet neighborhood. We have plenty of room to play and go on walks.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kinsale home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kinsale.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kinsale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
