Amber was ahhh-mazinggg! We will 100% use her services again! Our pups adored her and listened so well while we were gone. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. The constant updates, the pictures and the timely check-in’s gave us such a peace of mind! She even brought in our packages that were delivered while we were gone! Definitely recommend to anyone needing some trusted help!

About: I have personally had animals of a broad variety since I was born. I have sat for friends and family for over 5 years. I love it, love them like my own! I am currently an elementary school teacher and teach until 3 daily. I will be at home daily for the remainder of the day and am always home on the weekends. I have a fenced in yard that your animals can run and play in, an array of toys. If needed you can bring a crate for keeping if they are used to that. I do have cat crates.

About: I’ve gained a lot of experience and love from having dogs my whole life. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities, so I understand that every animal has their own needs and routine. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. While I’m new to professional pet sitting, I’ll treat your animal with the same care, attention, and love I would give my own. I’m currently working part-time so I still have plenty of time even the days I work throughout the day to take care of your furry friends! I currently have 3 dogs and 2 cats, so I’m very comfortable caring for multiple pets and making sure each one gets the attention and care they need. I always follow their normal routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of love and attention. When caring for a pet in a client’s home, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while respecting their home and their usual routine

Amy took excellent care of our 3 cats while we were on vacation. She also noticed that the temperature had dropped in our house due to a decrease in the outside temperature and she put the heat on for our cats. We also appreciated the daily photos of our kitties! We highly recommend Amy and will be booking her again the next time we go on vacation.

About: I have years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, and I genuinely enjoy the everyday rhythms of pet care—feeding, walks, playtime, litter care, and quiet companionship. I’m attentive, patient, and respectful of each pet’s unique personality, boundaries, and routines. I understand that pets can have very different needs—some are energetic and social, others are shy, sensitive, or independent. I’m calm, observant, and gentle in my approach, and I prioritize making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away. I offer pet care during the times I’m not with my son, which means when I’m booked, your pet has my full attention. I plan my availability carefully and only accept visits I know I can show up for consistently and on time. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m attentive, detail-oriented, and mindful of each pet’s environment, routines, and signals. I take care to follow instructions closely, keep doors and gates secure, and maintain a calm, respectful presence in your home. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I treat every home with respect, communicate clearly, and approach each visit with patience and care so your pet feels safe and at ease.

About: I've spent close to my whole living with dogs. Constantly learning how to better train them and care for them. Besides my love for dogs, I also have extensive training in emergency training for dogs. I was also a Flight Medic for the military, which included being trained and tasked with caring for injured or sick military working dogs. While I'd never claim to be an expert in this field, you can trust that I know how to take care of your furry family members. I am currently working full time for this position until my civilian licensure in Healthcare is approved, which will take several months. I'll be available day and night, and have no problem working on the weekends if we schedule in advance. I have a fenced in yard and 3 dogs that live with my wife and I. Tucker is a chocolate lab, he's the oldest at 10. Milo and Kiwi are two high energy German Short-haired Pointers, at 4 and 2 years old. We split between fresh food and kibble, and are no strangers to giving medications to our dogs.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Kings Mountain stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kings Mountain. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
