“I usually use Rover's boarding option, however, I wasn't able to find anyone in close proximity during this busy summer. With this being my first time using the house sitting service, I was nervous about leaving my dog and opening my home to someone I had just barely met. However, Mahle made this experience less stressful. We established a meet and greet a few days after I initially requested the days I needed a sitter for my dog. She responded promptly to my messages and showed up right on time. She was friendly, interacted and played with Koa as we discussed Koa's schedule and personality. When we were away, I did have to message her to see how everything was going and she responded quickly with updates of my dog and a picture. She was very respectful of my property and most importantly I came home to a happy dog. I feel more at ease using this Rover option and will definitely ask Mahle if she can sit for my dog in the future. Thank you, Mahle!!”

“Brianna was fantastic! She stayed in my home from Thursday until Sunday to watch my nine-year-old Vizsla and three year-old cat. Not only was she extremely responsive, but proactive about communication as well! She sent photos and kept me informed of things going on at my house like bad weather that caused a power outage and my lawn care company coming to cut the grass. She also kept my home extremely clean during her stay, honestly going above and beyond in several ways! My dog can be quite needy, and Brianna was not phased by that. She made me feel very comfortable about trusting her in my home and with my animals, which says a lot about her professionalism and level of care. While I would love to gate keep her so she is available whenever I need her, I figure she needs more than 1 “regular.” 10/10 highly recommend!”

“Erica was awesome! She provided daily updates and great pictures! I came home to Courage and Bagheera and a nice warm home! I really appreciate her wonderful care and consideration!”

“Heather was absolutely amazing from her meet & greet many months ago to the end of her stay last week. Our sassy senior poodle can be a little grouchy & a picky eater, but he warmed up to her so quickly. She followed all instructions for his care and the care of our home perfectly and then some - she really went above & beyond. Her updates and photos were super cute & made us feel at ease. We returned to everything just as we had left it, and most importantly, a very happy dog. Thanks Heather!!”

“Sydney was great with our husky and pug! Our pug is diabetic, blind and elderly and Sydney was fine with giving her insulin. They were both well cared for. We will definitely seek out her services when we need a sitter in the future!”

“Sent pictures, followed instructions, my animals and my house have little particulars that she listened to well, too! My house was clean, animals were well taken care of and happy when I got back ❤️ Would recommend Cayla and will use again! Thanks again.”

“Tessa was great with our boys while we were away. She communicated everything really well with us and sent us daily update pictures. Will definitely be using her again next time we are going out of town.”

“Brianna did an outstanding job watching my 5 pets and house sitting while I was on vacation for a week. She sent a morning and evening update every day with lots of pictures. All feeding and medications were given on time for the cats and dogs (plus putting some food and water out for the stray cats in my neighborhood)! I even came home to an extremely clean house with fresh bedsheets. I was very impressed by how above and beyond the care of the pets and the house was. 10/10 recommend!!”

“Serena is the best! We lost our regular rover sitter and Serena understood the situation and stepped up right away. She set up a meeting time to meet Mystery and get to know her before staying here. We hit it off right away and I knew right away she would become our new favorite Rover girl! She took great care of Mystery and our home during Fourth of July. We are extremely grateful and hope she will let us bother her again for future sitting needs!”

“Maddi was awesome to have watch our senior pups! She was so thorough and kind and I felt very quickly at ease with our dogs in her care. Would highly recommend anyone considering care for their fur babes to book with her and I personally hope to have her again with our pups the next time we need a sitter!”

About: I work from home so this allows me to give a lot of time and care to your pup. I am happy to take your pup along with me on my multiple walks per day and play in the yard. My son and I take a lot of joy out of hosting dogs and have so much fun with our Rover guests! Please note the dogs in our pictures do not reside with us and will not be present in our home when we have puppy guests. We only host one guest at a time (unless it’s a family pair). We would love to host your pup if it is house trained, friendly to all humans and other dogs, and does not have any history of aggression, separation anxiety or destructive / behavioral issues as we would not be equipped to handle. Meet and greet prior to boarding is our request to ensure a great experience for all. Thank you in advance for your transparency on these requirements! I work from home and am an avid walker, plenty of availability. Your dog would not be left alone for more than a few hours when I have to run out for errands or appointments. I’m a homebody! I live in a safe, quiet neighborhood in the north hills with flat, easy loops for walking. I also have a fenced in, flat backyard that dogs love to play in. I have a 12 year old son who loves dogs and will gladly play with your pup.

“My first time having someone stay in my home with the pups and we couldn’t have chosen better. Sadie came for a few drop ins to meet the dogs and they took to her immediately. Sadie kept in constant communication with me and left the house as she found it. I was happy to see the pictures of very content pups.”

“Nikki was amazing!! I have a small farm without a farm, haha. All five of my animals really liked her. Even the super shy one. Nikki sent pictures and daily updates. Highly recommend and will absolutely use her again!! Thank you!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, including the 4 family dogs I have now. I watched neighbors, family, and friends dogs. My golden retriever and I did a training program where we did intro level training. I am currently on summer break from school, so I am able to work most days. I am willing to adjust schedule to fit the care necessary. My home has an electric fence, but I usually bring my dogs to parks or trails to walk and play. Willing to bring your dogs to parks and trails as well as your yard to play. I love to make any animal comfortable in their home, and cater to them.

About: Hi, I am Mamie (I have gone by Mamie since birth but am technically named Mary) and I have had dogs, cats, and many smaller critters throughout my life, and my own pets for over 25 years. My mother was a vet tech and I grew up rescuing many animals, and continued that tradition into adulthood, so I have ample experience in a multitude of pet types and situations I work as a housekeeper around the Pittsburgh area from about 7am-3pm mon-thursday, so will not be available in the home or for potty breaks during those hours. The absolute longest I would leave a pet during a house-sitting is 8 hours on those days. All other outings/errands would be less than four hours, tops, but usually only about an hour. I am comfortable with more or less any pet, from rodents to lizards and I am not squirmish about even the creepy crawlies and slithery noodles. I can and have given almost every kind of medication there is, including subcutaneous injections, and am comfortable doing so with care and compassion and confidence. I am just starting out with professional pet sitting on Rover, I did it years ago in Seattle as a side gig on my own with Craigslist posts, and have had a couple gigs on here so far. I am clean, responsible, and trustworthy. I will only take jobs with a meet and greet beforehand, and you can get a feel for my vibe and professionalism at that time, but I am sure you will like me and feel comfortable having me in your home. As a housekeeper I am used to going into strangers homes and having a high level of integrity and care for their space and belongings. I also am very clean and fastidious. I keep things looking like I wasn't there as much as possible, and will clean litter boxes daily and change water bowls daily and do deep cleans of water fountains 1x a week. I work as a housekeeper from 7am-3pm mon-thursday around the greater Pittsburgh area. If you have multiple dogs who need round the clock supervision and you book me at least three weeks before the sitting start date, than we could work that out and I could block out my housekeeping schedule for that time and just be available for the sitting job (my rates will be increased in this situation as I am priced for my current availability, not constant care and being unable to make my normal wages during the sit). I don't do sitting in my own home since I have two cats and a husband and no fenced in yard. In clients homes I am respectful, clean, tidy, responsible and trustworthy. I mind my business and am not judgemental. I will spend lots of time loving and socializing your pets, and I set alarms and try to keep potty breaks frequent to avoid accidents and less stress.

“Theresa is a wonderful dog and house sitter! It is obvious when you first meet her that she is a total animal lover, and she assured me time and time again that my girl would be in good hands. She sent very consistent pictures and updates over the week we were away, and always asked if she was unsure about how we would like something done. Will rebook!”

“We were so lucky to find such a wonderful sitter during the Thanksgiving holiday! From the very first meet-and-greet, we felt completely comfortable. She was punctual, and it was clear from the start that she was friendly and professional. My dog and even my toddler warmed up to her instantly, which was such a relief! She kept us updated daily with pictures, which was so reassuring, and was always quick to respond to any messages. We were also impressed with how respectful she was of our home, and how she handled a few unexpected tasks like working with a faulty sliding door lock and even setting a faucet to drip due to freezing temperatures—she most likely saved our house from potential damage! The best part was knowing that she was taking excellent care of our dog and keeping her happy. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and we're so grateful for all the care she provided. Highly recommend! Thank you so much!”

“Kristen was great! She took care of my pup through some rough storms and helped keep her calm. Communicated with some cute pics as well. Also took the trash out when she was done with house sitting which she didn’t need to do! Would definitely recommend her :)”

Mary S.
“I'm delighted to recommend Mary S. as a pet sitter on Rover. Having watched her grow up caring for our multiple cats and dog, plus numerous foster animals, I can confidently say she has a natural gift with animals. Mary genuinely "speaks cat" - she understands their unique personalities and body language, treating each one as an individual. She's particularly attuned to pets experiencing anxiety or depression, knowing exactly how to comfort them and meet them where they're at. What sets Mary apart is her medical knowledge and experience. Growing up in a veterinary household, she learned to administer subcutaneous fluids, manage diabetic pets with insulin injections, and recognize when a pet needs professional care. She combines this technical expertise with genuine warmth - during playtime, she gets down on their level and makes every pet feel special. Dogs adore her just as much as cats do. She's safety-conscious, responsible, and has that rare quality of making animals feel instantly comfortable. Mary is completely reliable - she won't skip anything in your pet's routine - and she's great about keeping owners updated with pictures and messages so you'll never have to wonder how your pet is doing. Whether your pet needs specialized medical care or just lots of love and attention, Mary will treat them like family. She's exactly the kind of person I'd trust with my own pets. Eileen A. M.S.
