“We are so happy with Hannah’s handling of our three needy dogs! We plan to utilize her services anytime we go camping or on a trip. We loved the pics and the amount of time she spent with our babies! Thanks, again, Miss Hannah!”

“Alexis does a wonderful job! She took great care of Susie while I was out of town for a week. She is dependable and so good to communicate with me about everything. I highly recommend Alexis for all your pet care needs!”

“Stephanie was amazing! She kept in close contact with us and watched over the dogs and gave us lots of updates! She was very flexible and friendly! Will definitely use again!”

“Clara had amazing communication. She was very responsive to my messages and shared photos of the pets. She is watching our fur babies and house next month and I'm sure the dogs will be excited to see her again!”

“We were nervous having never left our 6 animals for any prolonged period, but Lauren exceeded our expectations. She communicated with us throughout the entire time we were gone, sending us pictures and updates. Lauren was quick to respond to our message’s prior to booking, even though we contacted on such short notice before the holidays. Our kitty got sick on the tail end of our trip, she stayed longer to make sure he was ok. Lauren was even able to get our problem child (dog) onto friendly terms within day 1. Lauren is very experienced, friendly, and a great communicator, we would highly recommend her services.”

I love to reward with snuggles and treats, so i always have treats on hand.
About: I have grown up around pets my whole life and have always loved their company. At a young age I wanted to be a veterinarian so I can learn more of animals. Even though I did not take that route in my education I still have taken care of many pets with disregards to age range or personality. Coming from someone who has experience with a pet with an illness I know how important it is to insure their health and safety. I am solely focused on their need of comfort and safety in my care . I believe open communication and direction for the care of your loved ones is very important in this role. I currently work a full-time job so my availability is not as open. I am currently open on weekends and the occasional weekdays, I will try my best to align with yours and your pets schedule. I intend to keep the best environment of safety and enjoyment wherever it may be. I will work to keep the peace and chaos in a healthy balance, whatever your pet will need.
About: I have had family pets since childhood. As an adult I have always had one or two dogs at a time. I’m the friend of my friend group who is always down to watch their pets while they are out of town. I love all animals and want them all happy and safe. :) I’m currently on a job hunt so I’m extra flexible and available! I was (and hope to continue) working from home which was very helpful to be flexible to accomodate watching pets at different times throughout the week. Feel free to provide detailed instructions on the care for your pet! I understand how important routines are especially in special circumstances for some pets.
About: I have taken care of multiple dogs and cats for family, friends, and classmates. My profession also has me working with all kinds of animals, so I am very used to working with different animals. I work on a 3 days on, 3 days off schedule, so I can work unusual days and hours at times. With this schedule I also am able to work different days each week. I constantly am providing my dog and dogs I care for with enrichment. It could be something small like spraying their tennis ball with a new smell or something complex like a new puzzle feeder. I try to constantly make them think for their treats and to help stimulate their natural senses
“Ashly was great with out 3 dogs! She checked on our boys frequently during the day and then stayed in my guest bedroom overnight. We requested that they sleep in the bed with her and she didn’t mind at all. She was even prepared to take them to the tornado shelter one night. I would recommend Ashly and I will be using her again (:”

I have taken care of puppies as well as older dogs with special needs including two diabetic dachshunds that went blind. I also have no issue with changing diapers for dogs as needed! I am currently available any time except for Tuesdays from 1:30pm to 3pm for pet care! I don’t mind checking on pets very early or very late in the day either! I prefer to meet the client/pet prior to beginning pet sitting to ensure I can ask all necessary questions for their care. I have experience with anxious animals and am fast at picking up on each animals specific preferences.
“Cassidy took great care of our fur babies! Our normal sitter was not available this time, so of course went with another. She took the time to spend with our senior pup when she needed it the most and also gave lots of love to our kitties and cleaned their boxes without asking. Would recommend or use again if needed!”

Now that I’m offering my services on Rover, I’m excited to meet even more furry friends (and their humans!). Duke and I are looking forward to making new connections. Connect with me for a meet and greet. I'm a lifelong animal lover and dependable sitter based in Oklahoma City. Whether it's snuggles on the couch, long walks, or keeping your pet's routine just right, I’m here to help you travel worry free. About: Animals have been my world for as long as I can remember. What started as helping family, friends and neighbors care for everything from birds to horses eventually grew into a lifelong career. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a professional kennel technician and spent six dedicated years as a pet groomer. Because of this background, I bring a wealth of hands-on expertise to pet sitting, including administering medications, managing special routines, understanding strict diet precautions, handling grooming needs, and much more. This isn't just a professional skill set for me, it's a personal one. At home, I care for my own sweet pack of senior and special needs cats and dogs who require precise daily medications, so keeping your pet's health routine perfectly on track is second nature to me. I truly believe our pets are family, and they deserve nothing less than the absolute best. I would love to give your furry best friend the expert care, safety, and deep affection they deserve while you're away! I currently work full time in ER overnight Tuesday-Thursday. This allows me to be available most days, ecspecially Friday-Monday. My husband is also off during the summer, so if your fur babies are being boarded at my house, they have 24/7 care. In my home, I have a room dedicated to animals that I board. So if you want them kept separate from my animals they can be. If you want them to have company, I have both cats and dogs that are loving and love new friends. I have a huge back yard that is treated against things like fleas/ticks and it is animal safe. I can provide crates for any size dog if needed. I have tons of dog toys, cat toys, and little pools for cooling down on hot days. I spend a lot of time making interactive fun play times for all my animals. For cats, they also have their own room with calming Sentry plug in to help create a calm environment for them. They will have their own litter boxes, toys, and every comfortable place they can lay in with lots of sunlight. My husband is off in the summers, and I work nights so I am up at night on my days off, in our home your animals have 24 hour care. As far as for care in your own home, I will care for them anyway that you normally do. I offer walks, play time, I can give them pets and hugs, I will do whatever they need to feel comfortable and safe. I can follow any specialized routine your pet may need. I also offer baths and nail trims if requested and it can be completed without stressing the animal too much. I offer these services for both cats and dogs.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for 25+ animals, so I’m calm, patient, and confident in situations most sitters aren’t. I don’t just ‘watch’ pets, I understand behavior, routines, and how to keep them safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I’m available for pet care in the evenings after 3 PM on weekdays, with flexible availability on weekends. I’m reliable, responsive, and able to accommodate consistent schedules or last-minute bookings when needed. I care for pets in their own home by keeping their routine consistent and their environment calm and familiar. I follow all feeding, cleaning, and medication instructions closely, maintain a clean space, and give each pet attention at their comfort level. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have professional experience working in a pet care facility, where I cared for dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Johnson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Johnson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Johnson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
