About: Some of my earliest memories are of spending many weekends and summers during my childhood at my grandparents’ home, helping them take care of chickens, ducks, goats and more. They even made goat cheese! For years, my sister and I begged our parents for a dog, and in 2012, a white Bichon Maltese came into our lives. He’s 15 now and still kicking, giving endless kisses and protesting whenever he has to get his eye drops. Shortly after him, we adopted two more dogs, also Bichon Maltese, and they have since become the cutest little family. I’ve taken care of them for more than 10 years, taking them on walks, feeding them, taking them to the groomers, the vet and more. All of that work is worthwhile and I’ve seen what a pet’s love can do to you: Not only did those three Bichon Maltese cure my mom’s fear of dogs but now she treats them like her children. Beyond them, I’ve cared for friends’ and family members’ pets, and now I’m lucky enough to dedicate so much of my time and money to making my own cat, Leela, happy. Growing up with and caring for a pet whose entire life is merely a chapter of my own has only cemented how important it is to give them the best life we can while they’re here with us. That’s what I strive to offer every pet in my care. I work from home most days and my schedule is pretty flexible. While early mornings and afternoons/evenings are generally preferred for drop-in visits/walks, I’m happy to work with your schedule to find something that will work. I have more availability for house sitting on weekends. It’s important that I meet you and your pet beforehand so I can hear how you want your pet to be taken care of (because the pet parent knows best!) Besides that, I always make sure leashes are adjusted properly and securely held with any dogs but especially with those who will take off running when you least expect it. I also make sure all doors are properly closed to prevent any escape attempts and that things cats might enjoy knocking over or nibbling at/eating are safely out of reach.

About: Hello! I’m Jess, and I provide specialized walking and drop-in visits across the Catskill, Hudson, and greater Columbia/Greene County area. I don’t just walk dogs; I use every visit as an opportunity to build confidence, improve focus, and reinforce leash manners. My approach is built entirely on modern, science based Positive Reinforcement and LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) principles. I believe in rewarding behaviors we want to see, helping dogs learn safely, without the use of intimidation or aversive tools. I am currently completing dog training and behavior studies through the CATCH Academy curriculum. This ongoing education ensures your dog is in the hands of an informed and committed professional. I currently work part time on Sundays and Wednesdays, so I have plenty of time during the week to give your pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I focus on leash manners during every walk to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience. I can work with dogs on impulse control skills to help reduce pulling through positive reinforcement and force free training methods. If your dog has any triggers I will work to maintain distance and reward when calm to ensure success and keep stress to a minimum for your pup.

About: Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a lifelong dog-lover and I just go gaga for descendents of wolves of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. My mother actually says that my first word as a baby was "dog", so I think it is simply fate that I am here today. I grew up with a magical Golden Retriever named Chessie and a spunky wire-haired Dachshund named Emma. I loved playing fetch with Chessie in the backyard, grooming Emma and trying to tame her spikey fur, and walking them together all around my hometown. As an adult, friends and family trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their dogs. And later, I was lucky enough to adopt a very special 7-year old mini-Australian Shepherd named Lexi who had been surrendered by her previous owner. Lexi had intense separation anxiety and some health issues with her kidneys, so after all that she had been through, it was so wonderful and rewarding to love and care for Lexi and watch her regain her confidence and trust in people and thrive. Being her dog-mom was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and I miss her so much. As your pup's new friend, it is my mission to give them that same level of attention, care, and admiration. Dogs have infinite space for love and joy and we have so much to learn from them, so I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am a work-from-home creative type so I have lots of time and space in my schedule to take care of your pup! I am available for walks, playdates, and drop-ins, Monday through Friday 8am - 6pm and I also offer boarding. I live in a large first floor two-bedroom apartment that's right next door to my building's dog park. Enriching town parks and trails are super close, along with a community teeming with all sorts of dog-lovers and dogs. My home is a warm and welcoming spot for your dog's vacay!

About: I love dogs and have been working with them for 2+ years now. I care for them at home, give required medications and give them long enjoyable walks.
